I just caught 5 of these little Hawaiian Yellow Anthias (odonanthias fuscinnipis) today and am planning to put together a nice 40gal. reef tank with actinics and low temp water. I also plan to add a 5cm borbonius sanguines that I caught a month ago and and a 3cm desmoholacanthus arcuatus (need to catch) for the tank. My plan is to put together the ultimate Hawaiian deepwater tank. Pics to follow at a later date!
Below are pics of the borbonius and one of the odonanthias'

Rob,
What temp are you going to keep the tank? My Hawaiian tank was down to 61 F last winter in the basement. That's a tiny Bandit. Good Luck. I got a 7/8 inch one 2 yrs ago and feed it chopped up mysis every 30-60 minutes when I was home, I really think that's the only reason it survived.

Exactly. With that tiny bandit and the tiny anthias, that tank is gonna have to be fed almost constantly. With that into a 40 gallon, make sure you have soem serious nutrient removal.

Rob! That Bandit is INSANE! Never seen even a picture of one so small. I'd do something a bit larger than that, however. Like others have said, I bet you'd have to feed constantly for it to survive.

Oh great idea, I always wanted a tank with deep Hawaiian fauna too, must be very nice when finished, please keep us posted! Planning on adding any of these?

Gonna look great!:spin1: borbonius is another awesome deepwater anthias, I think you mixed it up with bodianus.

should have kept the masked angel......and any other fish is just a fish....well unless you can come up with a coelacanth.
