My new H. crispa w/ green oral disc

My LFS grabbed this at the wholesaler because they thought it might interest me. They were right.

Here are a couple pics from a few hours after acclimation.
The green oral disc is actually more fluorescent than the pics capture. The mouth is neon green (when you can see it).

That is not a H. crispa but a H. malu. The bands on some of the tentacles give it away. It will not grow too big, max at about 10 inches.
Very nice anemone.

I was wondering if someone would bring up the rings.
I still think it is a crispa. I have had a malu for 2 years and this anemone is already larger. Additionally, the malu has a slender foot with color at the base. This anemone has a large, white, leathery base with white verrucae along the edges.
Maybe I am wrong but I am still sticking with crispa.

The tentacles count is too low for a crispa.

Any new pics now that's it's settled in? Is the foot attached in the sand or into a crevice in a rock. Malu ordinarily attach under the sand, crispas are more apt to attach to live rock (in a crevice or hole).

Unfortunately, we will never know which species it was.
It stayed at the rock/sand interface where I initially placed it, but never completely attached. After two days, it released completely and started going downhill quick. After it detached, I reached in to move it away from some corals and noticed a "puff" of water from the foot when I picked it up. Upon examination, it turns out there was a razor thin, but inch long slice in the foot. It could not be noticed upon casual inspection because of how precise and thin the cut was. It looked to be a pretty deep cut. The anemone never recovered and died several days later. It almost looked like it got cut with a razor blade when someone was opening a bag at some point in the custody chain.

I am sorry to hear this. He would have been a beautiful anemone.
