My new Regal Angel

Yeah, I thought so. After seeing your video I went and checked out my Regal. Its eyes were really really clear and not sticking out as much.

But if its eating well and water conditions are good sure it will clear up in a few days.

I'm gonna try put up a pic of my Red Sea fish, i've had for nearly a year.

Bradley, pics like that have caused a shortage of Regals in my part of the country! LOL
Beautiful doesn't even come close to that fish!
BTW, how much do "USED" Regals sell for?

Matthew

Yeah, I am not too worried, he has been healthy for years and he is eating well and acting comfortable in the tank.

:p I can never get tired of taking pictures of him/her. That picture shows just how beautiful they really are.
I'm glad to hear yours is doing well Micheal

Inbetween the eyes it seems somewhat scraped up. I have two theories right now. It may have been chased into a tight spot by the regal tang or blueface causing some damage to the eyes and forehead OR it has the early stages of HLLE/HITH and it is affecting the eyes. Either way, I believe with good water quality and a varied diet, either of these can be cured. I do believe I will remove all the carbon from my system to see if it improves. Basing that off of JHemdal's comments on HLLE conserning the use of carbon.

Just to add to that, considering the fish has been in captivity for 4 years, and it is an angel, HITH/HLLE is a major possiblity.

There is also the possibility that the eyes were injured in the net whilst being caught out for your collection.

Yes, they look even more sublimely gorgeous in real life. Its been too long since I saw one. I prefer this species over P. imperator for most beautiful of ALL angels.

The eyes and forehead still look strange, but he is eating like a horse and becoming VERY social. I am not sure if I have ever seen a Regal so willing to show off and swim with all the other fishes. It really has a good personality.

My Regal has developed quite the personality. In the years I have had it, it has become like a dog. It will come up to the glass as I approach the tank and eat from my hand if I let it. I'll have to see if I can get a pic. Mine was also bought as a "Red Sea" regal about 4 years ago from DD.

But remember, its used to people whereas most aren't. But a good personality is nothing to sneeze at in an Angelfish!

Matthew

Well the Red Sea is doing great. Eyes have not improved but he is extremely social and eating absolutely every food I have tried.

I had one on backorder from an online vendor for over 2 months, and wouldnt you know it, it arrive today. Do you guys think it is male or female?
