My New SPS Reef

What model is the Eheim pump? I am thinking of going with the Eheim 1250 so that the pump does not transfer too much heat into the water.

Looking well so far. Cant wait to see what you do with this tank.

oh haha what were your other options besides the BK? I have a tank like yours and possible look into an upgrade for my skimmer. I have a decent deal on a 2nd hand BK Mini 200. But the thought of getting the spares if my skimmer breaks down troubles me. lol

I was thinking in Alpha 170, Reef Octopus Cone 2000, the new Deltec APF 800 and Bk 180

beautiful!

Thank´s :spin3:

I´m using the Eheim 1262, strong flow, but 80W

Hi Denadai,
Congratulations for the project.
Certainly it will be a gorgeous Reef for SPS.

Greetings!

thank´s Alexandre :)

Oh wow, nice list! hahaha
but why not Alpha 170? or Reef Octopus? I thought these 2 are already pretty good especially Alpha Vertex! :)

The alpha 170 I saw some guys with microbubbles problems, octopus I saw some broken impellers and pumps, and the Deltec I already had one in my last tank.

I want to try something different, so the oscar goes to bk 180 :p

Denadai I use to run a mini 200 gen 2--- great piece of equipment--- and quiet. You will not be dissapointed.

I'm a fan of their tanks...I allready read your posts on zeovit, brasilreef, and reefdeep.. In fact my next tank will be planning and based following his designs.... Please post a pic that How you return the water (on top of the aquarium ? ) or how ?... thanks...

very unique overflow design.. Haven't seen those before and i guess it must be custom made.. Always learning something new..

Seems like you really thought this out before starting this tank.. Patience is a virtue. =)

Hi Guys,

The reef is running

Now I will wait at least 20 days to add the fisrt fish or coral

Looks great! I've never seen that kind of overflow before. I wish I knew about this before I started my tank lol. Can't wait to see some updates

Thank´s guys !

This is my float, and I did a little kalk reactor, dripping all day long. I think this is a good ideia to keep ca and alk , easy to do, cheap and efficient.

Looing good. I check this thread every day - several times! LOL.

I now have my lights and skimmer. On Friday I have taken the day off to go order my tank woohoooo! Then it will be a loooong wait!

Like your DIY kalk reactor. Does the input tube go deep into the reactor (to sort of mix the kalk?

Sereval times ? :celeb1: Now we will have to be patient , no news for a while

Yes, there is a yellow tube deep in to the reactor, so the water pass through the kalk powder

Now there is nothing to do, just wait the end of the NH4 cycle

My water test :

No2 : 1 ppm
No3 : 0.3 ppm
Po4 : 0.00 ppm
pH 8.2

Now when No2 hits 0.00 ppm I will add some corals and one fish to begin

Best Regards
