The tank is going to divide the living and dining area:

We purchased all the woods to build the stand support:

This is what it looks like as of today 7/25/12 and we are no where near carpenters and its our first time working with wood:

More to come soon....

Back from Bimini unfortunately lol. Had a great time I highly recommend visiting if you live in south Florida and have access to a boat. Now back to my build. What do you guys suggest I currently have 2 mp40wes that I'm going to place on the same side of the overflow. Now I'm debating if I should get another set of mp40 or an mp60 to place on the opposite end blowing back towards the overflow or none at all because it is a peninsula tank and placing a vortech there might become an eye sore. Later on I wanna start getting into sps and thats why I'm considering the extra flow because I don't think the 2 mp40 will give enough flow for 72". Any comments are appreciated

Those two mp 40s will give you more than enough flow..... if your looking for wave motion be careful not to get a wave motion going with ones at the other end of a glass tank it will only take time and the seams will burst just ask Roger.......

Looks good. Will the MPs reach that far. In a perfect world, I think a drilled bottom on the other end for a closed loop blowing the other way would be the best of both worlds. Not saying I'd do that, but just throwing that out there.

Will this be open top or do you have a canopy? If a canopy, you could always run piping for a CL or hide wires for a couple of Tunzes on the other side and it shouldn't be too much of an eyesore. If open top, you're SOL, LOL! Personally, I think a well placed MP with the cord run neatly is not much of an eyesore. Keep the updates coming!

It will have a canopy apparently my harlequin fish loves to jump out every now and then but always lands in the overflow ..

Nice set up. Your layout is almost identical to my set up. Take a look at my build thread. Im having the same dilemma with flow in my tank. I dont want any wire or powerheads on the side opposite the wall. I want to keep it clean. Two korallia 1400's on the overflow side were not giving me enough flow, esp in the middle of the tank where most of the sps are. Right now i just put one of the korallias on one side and the other on the other side even though i dont like how it looks and its giving me better chaotic flow in the tank, atleast till i can figure out what to do about the flow or save up for a vortech. :worried2: mines an 80gal shallow frag tank so im hoping just one mp40 would be enough.

Maybe everyone on FMAS can pitch in and buy me a mp40 for my birthday in October. :hb2: haha :frog: Right now all my $$ is going towards paying my wifes nursing school since she quit her job 2 weeks ago to focus on school. Oh well, maybe next year when shes done with school. Anyways....sorry about my rant...

Build is coming along nicely. Ill be following this one as like i said earlier, its almost the exact layout i have just alot bigger! :)

Nice sometimes you have to make sacrifices and I wish you guys luck on the nursing school. I have 2 mp40 now and I currently have 2 koralia 4 that are running on my 150. So I got some rooms to play with but I just love those vortechs even though they are pricey
