My peninsula tank build 72x30x30

Nice! Your tank will be the big brother of mine, LOL! Very similar equipment, just bigger and more of it. I really have my hopes up for these Radions. I'm considering ordering the TIR lenses just to get them a bit higher off the water. FWIW, I went with the Ecotech hanging kit because it looks pretty slick. They are a bit expensive for what they are, but since it was going to be visible, I did not want to DIY. I think you could easily DIY for a fraction of a cost. Also check out what D2Mini did on his new build in the Reef Discussion forum. He made a nice rack to hang his Radions. Can't wait for more updates. And thanks for texting me the pics the other day. I'm going to Home Depot tomorrow to finalize my hardware.

No problem your welcome..yeah I have my hopes up for the radions also. I've heard a lot of good things about the tir lenses but I'm going to try first with out them and try a lighting schedule that's going to work for me and if anything order them in the future. Nice choice going with a reef savvy tank those things are sexy lol. I'll check d2mini now so i can get some ideas

Latest updates!!!!! :)

I think it looks really good. What kind of wood did you use? Believe it or not, I like the grain pattern better on yours. More uniform. I was trying to copy the furniture in my sons nursery, but the wood grain of mine is too prominent. Are you planning on hinges for the doors? I'm super stressed out with mine. I can't seem to find the right hinge. FML!

Keep the updates coming. You will likely beat me to the fill date ;)

It's a combination of pine and poplar wood.. Got it at shell lumber that place has every wood you can think of.. And as far as the doors I'm doing ceramic block magnets so if I ever need access the doors remove completely..I have some sro products that i ordered and they are shipping from Louisiana but thanks to isaac they might get delayed hopefully filled by October 1.. I still need to make the canopy and figure out how to place the radions.. Any info on that would be appreciated..

OK cool, I didn't realize you were doing ALL the doors with magnets. I guess I was just thinking of my situation;)

There is a thread called something like "how to hand radions in canopy" or something like that which has some good ideas. Have you seen Davids build in the large reef forum? (the guy with 12 radions).

Yeah I couldnt find any hinges that I really liked and if I did they were to flimsy. And the more heavy duty ones looked worse. The kitchen cabinet ones were nice but that involved making grooves in the doors which was a little much for me so I just went straight magnets..I'll look into David's build now thanks

It kind of slipped our mind that today was a holiday.. Tank won't be delivered today and my next day off is Friday .. So hopefully Friday is the day

Pan con lechon.. Working a lot of off duties just for this tank

LOL. My mentality is I spend money on corals and not on equipment. So far I've had the crappiest pumps, skimmer, lights and my tank has been ok. Got a set of tunzes, a controller, better lights, and little by little have been noticing my tank has been doing a lot better. Now i wish I had some of that money from corals to get awesome equipment lol.

Yeah by far the most expensive piece of equipment for this build.. And thanks about the stand me any my girl decided to do it ourselves and it's coming out nice

Looking good

Lol no problem tag along.. The tank hopefully gets delivered today along with the radions, reef flakes and the water blaster 7000.. I've been tracking the items online so everything should get delivered by the end of today and my buddies bringing over the radions as soon as he gets them around 2pm

So exciting. I just ordered my plumbing, but will be on vacation next week. When I come back, I expect some serious updates, LOL!
