My second carpet surfer....

I'm 5'10 1/2" If he's going to go after ME, I don't think a larger fish will deter him. LOL.

That's why you get an Ambush Predator....say an Octopus or an Anglerfish. Honestly, if there was a way to keep your other desirable fish away from a predator, I would recommend getting something to eat the damsel instead.

Until they go after the good ones too! Its a vicious cycle I tell ya... ;]~ I still say, get a picture of a hottie damsel, and get a glass jar, but the jar in the corner, and then the picture of the hottie outside the tank, and when he goes over there to flirt with 'em... Close the lid! Badabingbadabang!!! ;]~

Maybe I can get a snorkel and some goggles for my cat....He does seem to enjoy watching that dominoe swim around and all.

It would beat up your cat. It would come out looking like this.....

Probably right, my cat is a wimp afterall. How well would something like a dominoe handle being in a fish only aggressive system? me and jess have toyed around with the idea of setting up a tank for more aggressive fish we like that we don't want in our 150g.

Hey, I say shave your cat to look like that before sending him to the front of the line. Then you don't have to worry about all the hair left in your tank.

You could always try a Dust Buster. I hear that's the most efficient fish-catchin device out there...

a dust buster...? hhmmmmm? That actually might work! LOL.

As for shaving the cat, he's a full blooded long hair red tabby persian. If I shave him I'd have a pile of hair 8 foot tall in the house. (everyone remember how "poofy" my hair is, I've got nothing on this cat!)

I just had an idea! It's also not thought out very well.... Get a Shop Vac, drop the hose in the tank, sit back, watch the damsel come out, and when he is near the hose turn it on just long enough to suck him in!

Lol, yep. This has turned into a serious suggestion. I should have predicted with you boys. Well, if you try it, you most certainly will need to video tape it for us.

If you replace the filter after getting the damsel out of the shopvac, you could not only remove the unwanted fish, but leave your tank a little cleaner than you found it...

Sounds like a plan! Go for it :)
Just go for it on your tank and not mine... lol

Some of the best ideas start out this way Travis, and I think it's an excellent Idea, I just need to find a shop vac now, lol. Would a normal bagless vacuum work? Or will it need to be a shop vac?

Shop Vacs are meant to be used with or without water. A bagless vaccuum isn't. Seriously though, you can take off the little filter, toss in a bucket in the body of the vaccuum, and suck away. The only thing that stops the vaccuum is a little ball in a guard. There are quite a few people here around RC that use shop vacs for water changes and cleaning sumps and refugiums.

Like Brook said, have a video camera on hand. This is the stuff that legends are built upon... "Remember when Adam took the shop vac and......." Can't finish the story til it has happened. You can feed it to the ray at Wet Pets!

That ray is so darn cool looking too, I want a blue spotted ray so badly but "need" a shark tank first, lol. Gotta have some priorities. As for the dominoe, I dont' know if I could feed him to the ray, he is a little punk, but I like him. I think he's going to get shop vacced right into my 12gallon tank for the meantime. Now If I OWNED a ray.....that's a whole nother story, Mua ha ha!

I know, that ray is so awesome. Chris and I have wanted to get a ray in one of our tanks for awhile now, then we saw that one... It hurts.

If you come to Stillwater one weekend, I can let you pet/feed the California Round Ray at Kyoto ;) *hint hint* :lmao:

Really?! it'll let ya pet em? That rocks. i didn't think a place like that would have that tame of a ray. Travis, it's no longer and "if" I come to stillwater, it's just a matter of "when" now. I liked your ideas for a frag weekend, plus I really would like to get to oddballs and buy a few items. And then of course all the tanks I need to see there, lol. (and pet that ray now too!) Oh so much fishy stuff to do, so little time...:D

It's very tame. It will swim upside down at the water surface for you to pet its belly, you can feed it by hand (it tickles), and it will even eat flake off the top of the water :D

it'll let ya pet em?

By the way, it's a "her", and her name is Ray-Ray (I didn't name her).
