My tank after 1 year.

I definitely want to go! Those Brazilian girls man they drive me crazy!! There's a lot of Brazilian girls where I live, I also have some Brazilian friends.

What kind of camera you got? I also read that most of your corals you had them as frags first? Must have save and make you tons of money now that they are all grown up!

great looking tank!!!!!!

Thanks !!!

Nice clam.

This clam is my favorite, it has a cool pale green color. Thanks!

your tank is amazing!!!!

Hey Carlitos, careful with the Brazilian girls!!! They are extremely high maintenance!! But aren't they all? Just like our tanks, in the end they bring more colors to our lives hahaha. I got a sanyo CA-100 it's a crapy waterproof camera, but it's excellent for close-up underwater shots, but nothing else. I'm hoping that the frags I'm starting to sell will get me some $$$ maybe I'll get a decent camera!

amazing tank, wonderful job... very well done... kudo's :)

Thank you so much Pallobi!

Well it is true but I am willing to give it a try lol ............... That ain't no crappy camera that thing is over $300+ :eek2:

I have a 55g I am planning in doing it in wall kind of 3D in my room. I need to get my room done first and then start setting up my tank slowly.

I been buying some equipment here and there but I still got a lot missing.

I am thinking in starting with frags as well, seems like I can learn how to take care of them and save me some money and sell the extra ones.

I would like to have like rare frags  that way I know I can sell for a bit more money when they grow :bounce2:

I will definitely come to you for questions I have later on. whats the spec on your lighting by the way?

Hi Carlitos,

I have a Powermodul 10X80w that is responsible for 50% of the results, you should do a lot of thinking before getting your fixture.

You will be able to get some money from fragging, but don't make it an obligation or you'll go crazy and unhappy, this hobby is expensive and the extra $ may go back to it in no time!

Best,

Renato.

Yea is funny because I ended up going crazy on what light fixture to get. But came down to a plan, because I know now if I do a reef with a 55g I'm going to be unhappy and wanting to go bigger.

Might as well do some fragging and make the money slowly for a bigger DT. I travel a lot from state to state somethimes and it would be fun checking some aquariums around for frags, lps, sps, etc.. add them to my tank to frag more.

I pm you BTW

When my tank grow up I hope it will be like yours!
In the end of september I'll go to Rio and bring some frags to you...

Do you feed your SPS?

No I don't feed my corals, but I do feed my fish 2x daily a homemade frozen preparation that has everything including algae paste, I read somewhere that fishes don't process the food very well and a lot of the nutritional value of the food remains intact in the excrements, I did one experiment 6 months ago, I only fed dry food for nearly 2 months and the corals started to get pale, so I think the frozen food produces a poop that is better for corals, perhaps because it's a lot more soft or because it contains a better nutritional value.

geo rx

geo rx

Hi Clowndude, I do check Iodide, Strontiun, Iron, and most importantly Potassium, every other week when I do a 10% water change, Potassium is always being depleted very fast because of the BPs, the rest are hardly corrected.
My GEO handles the system quite well so far, I did have problems with the PH Probe and I had to bring CA an KH back on track, but the water changes and the reactor are enough for me.
Most of the corals came as frags, but I did get one or 2 colonies at the beginning.

Thanks !!!!!

Hello Paros, thanks, I appreciate it!
I love my GEO 612 I set it and forget it and the corals love it
This one tool has made reefing much more exciting. Your acros are
Gorgeous.

Hi Gromero, Thank you very much!!

In Brazil everything related to aquariums is ridiculously EXPENSIVE and hard to find, so we kind of make it personal!!

Thanks for the kind comments, I'll update with more pics soon!!

Renato.

Congratulations on the beautiful tank. Its absolutely amazing. A true inspiration. Please keep up the good work and more importantly please keep feeding us with the coral eye candy!
