My tank after 1 year.

Sweet SPS tank! Can you give us a line up of the bulbs you are using?
Thanks !!

I 'm using giesemann bulbs and I have 5 actinic plus, 3 aqua blue plus, 2 aquapink, please note that in those last pics I have a fried ballast and one aquapink and one actinic plus were OFF and the tank is a little dark and the spectrum is a bit strange.

Amazing!!!! Great colors and coral placement!
Thank you!!!

Could you share your homemade frozen food recipe? I have been thinking of making my own food and getting away from the dry flake food.

I found the recipe :

The original:
4 ounces fresh frozen shrimp / 100gr
1 once squid / 30gr
1 ounce clam / 30gr
1 ounce crab meat / 30gr
1 ounce marine fish flesh / 30gr
1/2 ounce nori or other dried seaweed/ 5 sheets
1 teaspoon liquid fish vitamin supplement or a crushed Centrum pill (or similar).

What I add:

Instant algae nannochloropsis 30ml / 1floz
Selco, or fish roe 1 ounce / 30gr
Cylop eezy 2 table spoons
Spirulina 2 table spoons

I normally do more(2x) and put in ziplock bags and freeze them, making a flat thin block, I just brake the portion that I'll feed the fish, close the bag and return to the fridge.

Do not use fat fish like salmon, because with the squid and the selco or roe, the mix will bee too fatty and that may cause fat liver disease in your fish.

You can use other ingredients if you like, dried krill for example, just mind the fat. I have used centrum without problems but fish vitamin is more appropriate.

Just put everything in the food processor and let it get as fluid as it gets, be careful with the temperature, if it gets too hot it will spoil everything.

That thing will get your powerheads to spawn and your corals a great food source.

Or you can forget everything and buy a frozen food on your LFS.:spin2:

Dude ur tank should be TOTM!!
It's beautiful ur corals look very happy in your tank. Your husbandry skills are is very inspirational. And anyone who makes fish food on their own is born to be in the hobby:)
90% of us including me are tooo lazy to make fish food. Thumbs up to you in that and ur dedication, it really shows.
Your photos are just cool too, that's again another skill uv mastered.
Keep it up. Hoping to see ur sump setup and inside cabinet pics. Your tank abd cabinet looks extremely well build , very Elos like in appearance. And very innovative overflow setup.
I can only dream my new tank (stocking corals now) can be like yours.
Happy Reefing!!

Hey Noob,

Thanks so much for your kind words.:bounce1:

I'll be posting my sump and cabinet pics soon, just didn't find the old ones and did not have the time to shoot a new one.

Hi there, can you detail what sort of rocks you used for this tank?
What methods did you employ to clean the rocks of phosphate etc?

Many thanks. Please keep this nice tank thread updated.
