My tank after 1 year.

What an inspirational tank! Where do you get most of your acros from? They all seem to be the cream of the crop!

:furious: lol

Crabophobia :lolspin:,Those are my 6 yrs old daughter, and that's why they look so huge, in did not fancy to hold them in my hands, creepy buggers :o.
You got it right, this morning I saw another one on the same acro, it looks different, it's not hairy but it has black claw tips, I'll try to get a pic. Luckily the acro is loose, no problem removing it and dipping. But let's see if this one is ok first.

Hey, just so you know, dipping my coral that had a cymo in it did nothing to free him from it. He didnt budge, I had to use a screwdriver and needlenosed pliers to get him out...

Yes dipping doesn't do anything. You have to literally pull em out!!
I miss took those cute lil hands as your amazing Reefing hands Renato lol :D
You hav a brave lil gal!!
If i was there Il be standing atleast 3 feet away and observing this crab hunt :D
Good ur getting them out they are not that cryptic they roam out and about. But once lights off they are more relaxed and u can easily spot em in moonlight.

Yeah I remember, your wife has to kill spiders in the house doesnt she?!

OK...blowing my whistle and searching for my "YELLOW CARD"
Thats suppossed to be our secret....just for your info...i used to call my mom before and now its my wife....i have grown up!!!! Geez!

Hope this thread doesnt get ruined coz of my Crabophobia....i think everyone likes "crabs" in here...no pun intended :D

Nice tank and corals !

They were about 2 in, I do have some pics from the corals from the beginning, but not here in this computer I'll post some pics latter when I get them.

would love to see some growth pics too from the beginning to now !
nice work !

Absolutely awesome, killer photo work too.

I got to ask, what do you think is one of the biggest missing pieces you found to work towards you success over the source of your learning with SPS's?

Beautiful tank!! You represent the reefing scene in Brazil very well!

One question... I noticed you have dual reactors up by your AI sol in your sump area. What are those for? I know you have bio-pellets, but those look like carbon and GFO perhaps?

I'm less than half way through this thread but just have to say congratulations! Very nice tank and already I have 2 insights from you that are compelling:
1) BP deplete K+. I hadn't heard that before but that may explain my experience and others as well. With gradual decline in color
And coral health with BP. I suspected depletion of something but didn't know
Where to begin testing
2) Quality of fish food may impact quality of coral coloring. I'll have to check on that myself. 90% of fish food is pellet for me.
