Well as the title states my clownfish Mr. & Mrs. Nemo have laid their 2nd batch of eggs... I messed up on the first batch so I hope to catch the fry from this batch and try my hand at raising them...
As long as my Rotifers are growing and multipling nicely before the 2nd batch hatches which will be either on the 15th or the 16th if they follow the same hatch time as the first batch hatched on the 9th day.

My True Percs 2nd batch of eggs

A little overdue here... But here is my update we are now on Batch #6. Here is what has been happening....
Batch #2 had more then enough rotifers for the fry come hatch night I sat and waited had the lights off pumps off all that good stuff went over to the tank to collect them saw funny looking stuff and they did not look like the first batch so I thought they were pods or something. Then the next night waited and only a few hatched what was leftover not much and again did not look like the first batch and my husband got the magnifing glass out and sure enough it was them. The ones that I did collect did not make it because the heater is not staying at a constant temperature and they died.
So I put a piece of tile down where she had laid the first two batches at so she would lay them on it and I could pull the tile out on hatch night. Well that plan did not work. The RBTA that was on the rock were she had been laying them moved from there so she did not lay any eggs for over 14 days later and that will be Batch #3.
Batch #3 they ate them so I was not able to even collect any.

Batch #4 they ate about 3/4ths of the batch. So what little there was left I waited up for them to hatch and one of the cardinals I believe ate them before I could scare him away. No eggs on the rock nor any fry to collect"¦

Batch #5 again they ate quite a few of the eggs leaving only about 20-30 to hatch"¦ Well waited up on hatch night with the Fry Trap collector and it's led light on but nothing hatched. So the following night knew there should be some because they had the silver on them again waited with only the led light on from the trap nothing. Next night I decided to keep the light off for about 30 minutes then I turned the light on and guess who was in the back corner my cardinal and only 1 fry came into the trap.

2-10-13 - Now we are on Batch #6 she laid them much earlier than I was expecting her to do.

Congrats! That looks like a very large clutch of eggs!!!!
Don't give up... It takes a lot of patience and hard work! Were you able to figure out how to use the fry collector?

Not yet I have one that I am borrowing right now but will be ordering it on Monday. I saw them cleaning the the underneath rock that is on top of the rock that has the eggs on it but I could not see any eggs up there. Trying to look upside down it no fun. I just hope that amount stays the same when I got home from work yesterday evening they are super-dupper dark never seen them that dark before I will take another picture tonight and post tomorrow.

Thank you. I am sure hoping for a good hatch night Sunday or Monday night...

This batch of eggs looks really good! Lots of silver eyes today? I also try to make sure my temp on the tank is 80 degrees. The warmer temperature helps them hatch right on night 8.

Batch has been slowly getting smaller. I think I saw a few that had silver on Friday night and a few last night but not the entire batch so I am hoping for tonight. The tank temo has been 80-82 all week.

Well I am going to try tonight for collection just not sure if they are ready. They do have silver on them just not a bright silver as I have seen on the first two batches. Here's hoping...

Okay guys I stayed up till Midnight last night and when I came back to check on the tank one of my Cardinals was right underneath the fry trap collector were the fry would go up into the trap... So I think he got a lot of them. I was so furoius so I ended up with about 7 in the trap and this morning I could only see about three left in the fry setup not sure if they will be alive when I get home from work today. They have more then plenty of rotifers to eat...

Well I'm so sorry to hear about our luck :(
How close to the nest are you placing the trap?

Good luck with the 3 you were able to collect :)
