i have been able to keep wild acros for more than 3 years now
some of themj are getting back there colours
otheres are now but they are very hardy and survive tank failure

in my area there is no farms so i collect them my self

With that lighting I don't think you'll have trouble growing anything !!!

IME; wild corals are fairly easy to keep alive (as long as you get a healthy coral), but can be hard to colour up for most people. Although for a certain guy by the name of Biggles, wild corals colour up like rainbows.

i never have the chance for growing up tank raised corals

but me and my friend sucseede with some corals and make them colour up

most of wild corals that come fom the sea where brown in the sea and for those dont expect any changes in colours


but colourful sps come from the sea will 80% colours up again but take some time but when they start colour they become fantastic

i also frag them after they arrive by two weeks into small frags and stick them all around the tank so to observe wich place is the best


i also run randies two part receipe 1
run on vinegar dosing
cheato " but it is hardly grow due to low nutirens
bubble magus skimmer
lightning
400 wat radium and two sets of rapid led blue and white only

teco chiller


the most notice i have found that wild corals donot colour up unless ur kh is 7 dkh or less

i stopped dosing for about 5 month suddenly most of my corals started to colour up fast

Nice redadeath. Well only a few yours back the only source we too had was wild. In those days one could get a nice size colorful colony for $40. And of course we kept most of them alive! The only problem is the risk of introducing disease and undesirable life from the wild. But that can happen from farmed ones too.

Interesting that your experience with color below 7 dkh. I'm above 7 but not by much, I never fathomed going lower than 7 just as its not the status quo in the hobby and all my research has pointed to 7 dkh basically being the floor and 12dkh the ceiling. Seems the hobby has kinda adopted the need for lower alk with carbon dosing but your level below 7 is one of few that I've seen post impressive results that low.. Is color the only negative you notice in your system at higher levels?

Your LPS look great, good colors on the brains. How long have you had most of the acros? I also have all wild corals, by choice though. And with time and correct placement I agree most become as beautiful as anything aquacultured. Looking forward to updates later to see how well they color up. I can't see the pics well on my phone and the video didn't have much sps shots, from what I saw.
