Good thread,
I was wondering how the skimmers fair with prazipro?
I Dosed some prazi and my skimmer went nuts, even after doing a 50% water change i could not skim for 2-3 weeks.
I did not use prazipro but liquid prazi.
Any body have the same problem with skimmers? [/QUOTE
Prazipro will make your skimmer go nuts. It will overflow my skimmer in no time even though my gate valve was wide open.
You can restrict your air intake valve in order to use your skimmer
Your skimmer will work normally by running carbon for a few days plus a moderate water change

1. Is it likely that in the 3 days the fish was in the tank it left eggs or other live flukes that are now in my tank?
2. How long to I have to go get Prazipro and treat before it's will harm my other 5 fish?
3. How long will I have to leave the skimmer off?
Have other people out there had the same experience w/ anthiases?

Weird, I was just at PTF the other day and couldn't find any. Must have skipped over it. I'll take another look.
Thanks!

just wondering about this freshwater dip- is it 100% fresh? or do you mean hypo- i'm thinking about all the non-ich fish deaths that occured over the years and the fluke symptoms sound pretty familiar...

I attempted to freshwater dip him and unfortunately lost him do to an accident of my own stupidity.
Out of the two I had left another stopped eating and did the head shake thing. He actually ate one piece of food that day. I decided to treat the whole quarantine tank with Prazipro. On the day of treatment the third fish had stopped eating.
The next day fish #3 had started to eat again but the second to get sick hadn't. Now fish #3 seems to be doing well but #2 still doesn't eat, hangs by the rear corner of the tank and breathes a bit faster that the other one.
Treatment started on Saturday. Today is the third day and the package said you can dose again in three days. I used half the original dose and added it to the tank in hopes of killing some stubborn flukes. Since the fish hasn't eaten for almost three days and his behavior hasn't changed I'm thinking it's too late. Now the healthy one is starting to show a little bit of aggression towards him. These fish always swam together and never had any aggression issues.
Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do next?
