naz240, i'm pretty sure it's one or the other... prazi in the freshwater dip sounds pretty dangerous

You shouldn't have to use Prazipro during a FW dip
Its hard to see flukes if you are using a white bucket since the flukes are opaque white the size of sesame seeds. A flashlight will help. Cloudy eyes could be from numerous of possibilities ie ich, bacterial infection, water quality, etc. Most of the time its bad water quality and usually the eyes clear itself when the water quality improves.

i was hoping that i would never have to open this thread or respond through this thread, but unfortunately i had to today, after finding my scopus tang dead in the back of my tank this morning.

I add Prazipro when the fish are in my quarantine tank. I wait a few days until the fish are eating well. Then I add 1/2 dosage of Prazipro. If the fish are fine and still eating the next day I add the other 1/2 dosage. Unless the fish is heavily infested with Flukes it takes a few weeks or months before the flukes will take its toll on most new fish.

Hope your next tang will do better.
If someone else can confirm this if they ever seen flukes on any species of tangs. Ive kept many tangs, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Naso, Powder Blue and have yet to see and flukes on them

Unfortunately, a 5 gallon bucket acclimation with meds will not cure flukes and many other diseases.
It would probably be best not to add any more fish to your display until you can properly qt and treat for diseases. Perhaps you can pay your lfs or another reefer to qt your new fish if you can not temporarily set up a 20" tank anywhere at all.

I can confirm this. I purchased a Tennenti tang that turned out to be infested with them. The flukes did not "jump ship" onto any of my other fish which include two other tangs but definately were all over the Tennenti. I bit the bullet and dosed my display with PraziPro. Flukes started coming off right away. I will highly warn against this as even though it's "not supposed to harm the biological filter" I highly suspect it did just that to mine even though I followed the dosage to a T. Most of my coral, all of my fish, inverts etc survived. I lost maybe two sps frags and dealt with trying to restabilize the tank for a month or two. I'm still dealing with cyano (which I didn't have before the dosing) but that may be an issue for me due to the windows being shut for the winter so I can't 100% blame the PraziPro for that.
I do not have a quarantine tank and the med needs time to work so using it during acclimation would kill some flukes but not all of them and therefore essentially it would be useless in the long run. Same as freshwater dip... doesn't get them all. Only way to get them all while also protecting your existing coral and livestock is to follow the med instructions in QT.
its simply i acclimate and add the fish I have 10 fish 9 years old. No problems. I never said I never heard of a QT I said I dont have room for one and was told not to add fish. QT is not the only way incase you forgot that theres more then one way to run a reef tank. Im askin about a dip of the proz while acclimating not QT. A awnser of dont add any more fish until you have a QT is not a awnser
