1.drinking
2.engineering
3.burning couches in celebration of a big win
4drinking

salty when you are making your decision on a college you will have to look no futher then WVU. I have to say this has been the best year of my life some how i managed to party 8 out of 7 nights a week and still keep a 3.8 gpa in engineering school. Don't be fooled though alot of people do flunk out up here about 9 people from my high school class did and are now going to state but if you keep your priorities straight you can have fun and still pass!

im not going to colledge. Im gonna open my own petshop and run it full time after i Graduate highschool (FYI i already have my business licence app. all i need to do is build the building and turn in my app)

How are you going to get all the money for over head cost like the building the tanks then equipment and most of all the stock for the store? Not the live stock just you products to sell?


I would love to open a pet store of my own, that would be my dream. But I think im going todo it after i make my millions as an engineer lol or just to the point where im financally stable

LOL Hey med school theres a good idea. Thats what i wanted todo till i took anatomy physiology in 12 grade that kinda scared me off lol to much memorization for me who knew there were 100 different parts to each bone! lol Just one pleee don't get an undergrade in bio if you going to go to medschool because like 7-10 people don't make through and you have a useless degree bio has like the lowest job placement in the country!

Shane, I so much agree with Ron, college has got to be your first priority, with a degree you will be able to help change things, much like you are working on now, but you will understand as you get closer to your graduation. A college degree is a must. And you can have fun as Nathan is saying (but you don't have to party all the time to do it, my son goes to Concord, which is the most boring college/place around, they have fun and are more focused on what they are there for, and he has stayed on the Deans list all 3 years he has attended) But you are way to gifted to not use it and help advance that through college. We need people like you Shane to make a difference!

I make a good living from the wrecks who think that getting into trouble with alcohol and drugs are for other people. Contrary to popular belief not all college grads drink.

I could give you a list as long as your arm of bright, top of the class students, some actually in med school or RN programs that blow it with drinking. Dont fall for the trap.

Ron...i dont know THAT much about medical science.....the microbiology stuff was WAY too easy. So what i read and remember what i read.....that doesnt make me great. So i made a 100% on a colledge Microbiology quiz....SO WHAT? Just because I am good at microbiology doesn't mean I should spend money I dont have on a colledge edu. about something i dont know that much about. And nancy i know you mean well...but im content with helping out the hoby as much as i can. How will microbiology help me to do that?

Have you checked on financial aide. Make sure you apply for all of them and the app is free. Also there are scholarships available most of which go unclaimed because no one applies for them.

My daughter went to a 40,000 plus per year college and only has about 8000 in loans.

If you need money for college it is there you just need to apply yourself or your mother (LOL) to finding the grants and scholarships.

There is a marine bio degree at coastal carolina university in SC!! lol as for spending money you don't have do you think your going to start a petstore out of pocket???!!?? Your going to spend way more money starting that then you would ever spend on a good education.

THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT TO A COLLEGE DEGREE WITHOUT ONE OUR GENERATION IS MOSTLY OUT OF LUCK. MORE JOBS EVERY DAY ARE REQUIRING ONE!

Anyone in america can go to college these days look at me my parents had NO money to spare for me to go. But will goverment grants and state grant im getting paid to go!!!


Now i have to admit it is little harder being a plane white male with no disabilites. All the scholorships are either for minorities or women so get ready for that lol. Your better off to cut off a foot or something there is a scholorship out here for that but not for a plane white male!

I know that a lot of the students hate Concord, mainly because it is a boring place to be, which is why most of the students that graduate from Concord do so with the grades that really get them somewhere. Check the statistics, it really is amazing. Concord is a very credited school. I do know that a lot of kids go to college simply because they want to get out of the parents home ahd live it up. My own brother did that, went to college to party, wasted money that our mother worked her butt off in a school caf. making only to put him through school, he flunked out and just quit. Don't think that I don't believe in having fun at all, people college age need to enjoy, because you have the rest of your life for the tuff stuff. I am ony saying that college is not just one big party, and I am not preaching to you, actually I am tring to get things across to Shane, he is 14 years old and is very intelligent, I just didn't want him to have an unhealthy view of college. I don't mean to be a Mom, sucking the fun out of everything, lol. Just remember, wear your seat belt and don't run with sissors! LOL

I have been looking into the "online colledges" where you take all of your classes online (that way I dont have do be around jerks, morons, and general idoits ) ANYWAY im still waiting on someone to tell me what Jobs i can get with a degree in Microbiology...And being a surgeon or doc. is outta the q cause everytime i watch the discovery health channel it makes me sick LOL i appreciate yourall's concern for my future. ( If my mother hasn't killed me by then... LOL)
