Thanks..

acropora general. Not every acro has a name. while they are all beautiful in there own way. some people have decided to name ones they found interesting thus putting the rest of us deeper into cc debt. and we wonder why the economy looks like the life of a prostitute.

I have this one and it was sold to me as a purple voodoo. Only had it just over a month took it a few weeks to get that nice biege coloe and purple tips.

The coralites appear to large to be a tenuis. Getting a positive ID would be almost impossible. Here is my guess, but it appears someone either named this blue voodoo and duped you, or they just made up the name for it.

It looks like it is either a wild piece or maricultured. If it was grown to that size from a frag, it would be skinned over at the base much more than it is. Where did you buy the coral from? and did you recently mount it or was it mounted on the rock/plug that it is on in the picture?

I thought it was a maricultured piece to, but the guy a the LFS told me he grew it from a 1 1/2inch frag.

Its mounted on a small rock..

I would doubt that it was grown from a frag. Only becaus of what I said above. The amount of basal skin(although not all acros put down a lot of skin, eg. A. tortuosa) and the rock it looks like it is on. I could be completely wrong though, and do not want to call anyone a liar. Can you snap a better picture of the rock it is/was on and the base? Most maricultured corals use the same style disks/stones/concrete.

To me, it looks like two longer branches that were attatched side by side . I would say maricultured. It is a nice piece. If it was laid on it's side, there would be a much much larger base.
