naso qt disaster.

Thanks! lots to learn here.

how is the your new anemone doing btw?

It had been looking pretty ragged, but a week in HT with the aforementioned fish flox (apparently anemone Flox, too ) and things look a whole lot better. Went into my 265 this past weekend and I think it's over the hump.

are the hawaiin ones caught using cyanide?

I am certainly not an expert on where fish live and methods to catch them. However, I do not believe that cyanide is used in Hawaii. I also do not believe that blonde nasos are from Hawaii.

Amazing! i can not wait to get to that stage!

i have never been so eager to go visit my uncle in Connecticut :)

I always feed antibiotics like kanamycin, unless the fish isn't eating. I would suggest mixing it in the mysis, freezing again, feed 2-3x/day, small amounts. Sometimes I used Focus from Seachem to bind the med to the food.

I too seem to be a magnet for diseased fish, but I've healed many of them, helped locals save theirs and now I find it interesting and read fish disease textbooks in my spare time.

A few pointers that come to mind are: keep QTs at least 10' apart from each other or the main tank since disease can become airborne and spread. Make sure you wear gloves when dealing with meds, most of it is carcinogenic & only treat when absolutely necessary - use TT instead of copper for ich. If a fish has a small infection, that doesn't look like septicema, sometimes it's best to leave the antibiotics in the cabinet for a bit and see if the fish's immune system will improve the condition. These are my opinions and I like them because they work for me. I used to get all worked up, now I take a more relaxed approach, do a lot more observing for change/symptoms, medicate sparingly & have better results.

+1

Blondes come from Indian Ocean primarily. Collecting in Hawaii is heavily regulated, and fish are net-caught there.

Well. It should work if it's bacterial!!! And metro will get some protozoa also. You can't miss. Worst case is you may need to feed it with food also.

so far i do not see any physical improvements

so far.
day 1 full dose
day 2 50%wc 50% dose
today. 50% wc 100% dose (will be doing this in a few hours)

Ok. Fish should be acting well in this. Right. ?? If you see no visible signs in few days you may have to get some metro or neo in food.
