Nassarius & Ceriths?

I'd like to get 3-4 each of nassarius and cerith snails to split between my two tanks. Caesar's didn't have any today and weren't sure when they'd get them. I can wait for them to call me but thought I'd see if anyone knew of another local shop I could get them at?

The online stores aren't worth it given the next day shipping cost for just snails and sadly, I don't need anything else to make it worth while.

Super easy to find, my boys loved the chicken, and they had the snails I needed. I also picked up some waving hand for the pest tank. Looks like they are mid overhaul so things were a bit crazy. The live rock in a few of the coral tanks was amazing, 100% covered with dusters. Was a bit too chaotic for me but I expect when they get through some of the work it will be very nice.

The folks at Caesars are a bit more friendly/helpful. Travis is really nice so it won't be one of the other for me any time soon.

I can see where your kids would love the chicken. I prefer mine bar-b-qued!

:)

They are doing lots of remodeling. It's been hectic for awhile. Improvements long overdue.

I really have a problem supporting a lfs that won't even buy back frags from customers for store credit. Nor will they buy back fry from fish you bought there that spawned for you.

Imo, this is one of the best parts about the lfs/customer relationship. It rewards the customers hard work and knowledge that was passed on by said lfs.

This one event sold me on fish pros and keeps me from going to cesars unless absolutely necessary:

I made a mistake while ordering a bucket of salt online. Instead of the regular Red Sea, I purchased a bucket of coral pro. I asked cesars if they would be willing to swap out the bucket for me. The coral pro is a more expensive item so they would've come out ahead, although not by much. I told them I was even willing to pay a restocking fee of sorts. I was told "no way". Btw - I purchased my tank and stand from them earlier that year...

Went to fish pros. Asked the same favor. Unfortunately they didn't carry the blue bucket Red Sea salt. Regardless of that, they said "no problem". They special ordered me a bucket of the salt I wanted and did a straight up swap. No receipts no restocking fee, no charge.

Fish pros recognized that I was a regular customer and they took care of me, even though the mistake was mine originally by purchasing the wrong item from dfs.

To me, this is what a lfs should be all about, and cesars on numerous occasions have showed me that they have no interest in fostering that kind of relationship with their customers.

Just my experiences.

I've found the response at the Piner store to be really dependent on who you talk to. I've seen them give credit for frags and I've gotten credit for plants, but it's not consistent.

When James left (damm his big apple dreams! :) ), I lost my kindred spirit connection. Now they are my second choice LFS.

Yeah I've had similar experiences at Ceasar's.
The dude actually named Ceasar seems to know his stuff, and is worth talking to, as well as some other guy whose name escapes me (seems to run things there though).

Jofish was my go to place in Petaluma until they closed up shop (not sure what Ron decided to do).

Fish pros sounds like it's worth a shot, I'll have to check it out.

There are good places out there, they are just farther.
I've had a good experience with Jess @ Diablo Corals, and he had a good selection when I was there, prices were ok.

I also was really into Neptunes out in Hayward, seems like they get a lot of people through there, and I was pleased by their prices (on fish and starfish at least, didn't buy coral that day).

For the past year though John @ GoldenGateCoral down in South SF has been my "lfs" and has treated me better than gold. It's just over an hour for me to get there, but I've never been happier and it's well worth the trip every couple weeks for me. (if anyone wants to join me on my next trip, I'm doing one this week, let me know)
