NCPARS/TFP Fall Frag Event October 2.2010

Any raffle updates? We are getting close.

TFP and NCPARS are trying something a bit different this event and we will be looking for feedback from our members on this. There will be a grand prize raffle with a Marineland 93 gallon cube (thank you Marineland) and several smaller raffles with Aquatic life pumps (thank you Aquatic life)

And here is the twist

A silent auction will be held

The auction will be held Saturday only in the retail store, so everyone will have a chance to bid on those items. There will be both aquatic and pet related items in the auction, bidding will be open from 11-3, and winners will be announced shortly afterwards. Money raised from the Auction will be split 50/50 between NCPARS and the Lancaster County Humane League.

Are you still doing any usual type raffle? Me personally I'd rather drop $80 in tickets and take a chance on something I don't NEED but would LIKE than have to outbid somebody on a 3 or 4 figure item..especially since I don't NEED it. For example I could use a new RO because mine is leaking and I'd drop some tickets to try to win one, but I won't bid in an auction for one..except REALLY low. ...and then I'd also have worry about bidding on more than one item. I certainly don't NEED a new cube so the same concept applies. :)

Anyway...It could go either way for you. I think for the people with unestablished systems a silent auction on a cube will go well and almost guarantee you get back more on it then the old way...but I hope you do some smaller/medium size items "old school"...otherwise I doubt I'll even bid on anything...but I know that's just me. :)

Kevin, the DD and the pumps will go out on a traditional raffle and the other items will go thru the auction. We will see how it goes .We can make adjustments accordingly .

Tick Tock Tick Tick, last day to get your pre-trades in on FragSwapper.com. Just an FYI I will be leaving the event unlocked since it has confused people in the past trying to find their lasts once trading is locked. I'll be posting something on the site shortly.
