Need a RO booster pump

So the apartment that I moved to has a water pressure of about 37 psi. I'm blowing through DI cartridges every 100 gallons or so. So I know I need a booster pump. Can anyone recommend one in particular? My RO/DI is a 75 gpd.

I just got one from air, water, ice for $145 delivered to my door. It made a huge difference in output and hopefully will help me make the di cartridge last longer. The instructions were not very detailed, but it was easy to figure out. I had to tweak the pressure switch (just an allen screw) and the bypass valve to get the right pressure - and there were no instructions on how to do that, but again, I was able to figure it out.

My RO/DI unit was from them, as well, so I just went with their pump. There may be better ones out there, but I think most are going to be very similar to what I got.

By the way, they recommend around 65-75 psi. for their unit - I am on well water and was running between 35 and 45 psi before adding the pump.

Hope that helps.

I just got the Air, Water, and ice one as well and it looks to be put together pretty well and has everything you need to hook it up.

What was your pressure after you hooked up the booster? Im on a well also and only have 24 PSI.

I use a Dow Filmtec membrane 75 GPD. Their website says the suggested water pressure should be 50 psi. I just talked to the site engineer where I work, and he said to look for the PRV in my apartment and adjust that. I think before I buy anything, when I go home, I'm going to do a little hunting around.

I turned mine up to 90 psi. Was about @ 28 psi on the well pump on it's peak. Forget if it was Air Water Ice guy who told me that or another ro/di guy.

Well I wasn't able to find the PRV. I know one of the maintenance guys in my apartment complex pretty well, I'm going to ask him where it is. I'd imagine there has to be one somewhere.

So it turns out there is only one PRV for the whole building. So I bought a Aquatec 8800 today. It should be here in a few days. Does anyone have any experience with these?

in general, RO/DI units work best above 40 PSI. mine runs about 80

Well I got my Aquatec booster pump. I have it set to run at 70 psi. It's working great. I adjusted the flow restrictor to get about a 4:1 ratio, and it is producing good water at an incredible rate. I don't know if it's too fast or not.

I've been using a Melev's Reef 100 gpd 5 stage unit with an Aquatec 8800 at 80 PSI for months, and it almost doubled my RO output. Contacted Marc and he told me 80 PSI was fine.
