Need Advice! First Carpet!

I just bought my first ever carpet nem last night. It was attached to the glass at the store and it attached itself to the bucket during acclimation. Its also extremely sticky. It attached itself right away on the rocks right under the lights. it has inflated and has yet to deflate. it ate a small piece of silverside today and is still extremely sticky. My worry is that its mouth has closed a lot since acclimation but it has yet to close completely. It is a tiny bit bleached but im taking care of that. Im pretty sure its a gig because it has somewhat long tentacles and has tons of purple spot on the underneath. Is it a gig? or is it difficult to tell without a photo? What do you think about the mouth being slightly open. Although nothing is hanging out im still really concerned. Ive only kept bta's so im used to things being perfrct and going smoothly so i may be overreacting. is it normal for a nems mouth to be open slightly after only 2 days in a tank? Ill try and post a picture of it later tonight? Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks

This was how it looked one hour after acclimation.
You can see the mouth is open. Is that normal for carpets?

It could be stressed out from shipping still. I think it will be fine with good care.

Beatiful anemone btw

Nice find just make sure that you take care of it to bring it back to health. I think that you just might have a great nem on your hands.

The slight gaping is fairly normal for new additions, but you should continue monitoring it. I can't tell (the light is too blue for me to tell), but is this specimen bleached? It looks like that may be the case to me.
