Watchman Goby

My big fish are done (4). I would like another dozen or so small (4" or less) fish, but I am running out of ideas.

I plan to add 3-4 more fairy/flasher wrasses, but that's all I can think of.

What would you add? btw, this is a 220 gallon 72x24x30 H reef tank.

I would say you are pretty full for a 220 gallon but perhaps a shoal of 4-5 anthias if you decide on a few more fish.

Ive never been one to overstock a tank, but before this tank crashed and I removed all fish to treat for disease, I had 22 fish. Even with 22 fish, the tank looked empty. Im not set on a number, but I was shooting for 30ish.

Easy, a dozen more Wrasses! Fairy & Flashers, Leopards, different Halichoeres, etc.

I agree too.

I agree with marshall.

I'm having a hard time deciding. So many look alike. Example: red tail, line spot, carpenters, mccoskers, red velvet. All look sooo close in coloration and body shape. It would seem foolish to keep more than one of the list. Or can you since they look the same??

Pylei, lineatus are definates down the road.

Keeping a few males of different species of flashers actually helps show their differences.

As they flash at each other you will see fins fully extended so that species with yellow anal fins are noticeably different than those with blue or burgandy, and those with multiple filaments on the dorsal stand out from those with one.

While true that there are a lot of predominantly red wrasses there are also a lot of other colors, especially if you go to other Genera such as Halichoeres, Macropharyngodon, Anampses, and Pseudojuloides. As well as Cirrhilabrus in the Cyanapleura and exquisite complexes.

I think you will end up with problems with the three tangs in that tank together, I previously had 5 different types of tang in my 220g but now only have 2 because of aggression issues. I only have 12 fish in my 220g and I'm already purchasing a bigger tank. You can and probably will do what you want to but go slow and believe it or not less is more

Which of the 3 tangs will be a problem? Yellow vs. Powder Blue?

Also, none of the tangs have made it to the DT yet, so I'd love to hear some opinions on which 2 of the 3 can go in.

If I was guessing the PB, I'm sure they will be ok for awhile but when they get larger the aggression will set in is all I'm saying. I had to rehome two of my tangs, on to a 375g and the other is in a 125g being held until I setup the new tank.
