NEED HELP FAST! My Lyretail Anthias is dying!

He's had ick for a few days now, and I've done the every 2 days treatment and he's still not getting any better. Can somebody please help me?

He's breathing really hard too. 34g tank. Our flame angel died 2 days ago of ick too.

If its that dire, id go for a kill or cure'm method. I would wait it out though and see what others might say....

Freshwater dip for 3-5 minutes. The hard part is adjusting PH to get it close, and keeping the water near the same temp as the tank its in.

It worked for some fire gobys, i dont know if it will work for anthias. If the fish lives, you will see little 'exploded' ich cysts on the body of the fish...its kind of rewarding.

hmmm....its one of those things that most people say "dont try this at home kids"...i hope someone steps in soon. I have to take off for a bit, if you dont have an answer in a few hours ill fill you in.

dip the fish in a large quantity of freshwater that matches the pH and temp.

If the fish is still eating i would definetly get some food soaked in garlic guard and vit C into it ASAP. If there are any other fish in the tank you should feed it to them as a preventative measure. I tried the liquid cure method once on a yellow tang and it didnt do anything. The entire tank crashed. When i got the system back up and running i put in a blue tang. Same ich but i soaked food in garlic guard and it cleared up in a few days.

I don't think we have any. I have a Midas and A Starry Blenny in there, but their both fine.

I think he died because two of my peppermint shrimp are next to him...

any updates? did you FW dip him? if hes still alive, feeding him some sort of enriched food would help ALOT.

My pH was low, and acidic. My Midas Blenny is now in the same postion the anthias was in...

maybe a 20% water change? good luck - I feel terrible when I lose a fish I like ...

what is the pH drop when lights go out? im having a same problem, just not as much.
