Ok my metal halide / t5h0 setup kinda caught on fire a little today. The wiring to the metal halide starting smoking and there was a small flame, luckily I happened to be right there and unplugged it. The wiring going into the unit is blackened now. Also one of my t5's stopped working when I replaced it with new bulbs this year, I have 3 metal halides and 4 t5h0's for a 150 gallon tank that is 6 feet long.

I need to get something fast, should I consider LED? Should I consider fixing it, is this something that happens? I can't go days without light and I'm scared to turn it back on. What should I do? Is there any recommended already made LED lights that people are using that are cost effective? Thanks!

From what I know, LED lighting doesn't have enough PAR for corals, but that may have changed. As for the ebay link, I can't tell what the manufacturer is. The price is cheap compared to the equivalent AquaticLife 72" fixture, but the quality might not be as good. Just my thoughts.
