I recently came across a good deal on a fluorescent green Australian Trachyphyllia similar to the one pictured.

Now normally I would place one of these at the bottom of my aquarium, however the intense color would lead me to believe it should be higher. My aquarium is your typical 120 reef (4’x2’x2’), with two 250w 10k XM halides, Lumatec E-Ballast, mounted in Lumen Bright 3 reflectors. I have about 10 inches between bulb and surface and an inch layer on sand, so roughly 33 inches. As of right now I have it placed on the sand for light acclimation and just wander if I need to plan on moving it to swallow water?

Mine does great at the bottom of the tank under 250w de 13k bulbs.
It hasn't lost any color and it probably could be placed higher but I don't think
it needs to be to retain its brightness.

We keep our bright ones like that at the bottom of the tank (75g) with 4x 110 VHOs. It glowed more than the one above. It never lost any color.

Here is mine I've kept it on the bottom (24" from the light) for a year and the colors have not faded. lighting is 250w SE XM 20kK
