I have a reef tank, and a FOWLR- or what would be a FOWLR if not for my rock anemone. I have this sweet little rock anemone, that unfortunately is attached to a very ugly fake ornament. I REALLY want to get rid of the fake thing in my tank (anemone given to me, already on ornament). I also need to move that anemone into my reef tank, so it has a proper environment. I REFUSE to put that fake ornament that it's attached to, into my reef tank.
I have searched all over, and have already tried changing the flow, even pointing the powerhead directly to it. I have tried scraping it up with a credit card also. But the fake ornament it is on, the surface of it is very jagged, so I cant really scrape it up because it is sitting in several grooves.
This is my third attempt with the powerhead. It has been over a week this time, and still no movement. I am feeling guilty keeping the powerhead on it this long, and it just isn't working.
I have also tried bobbing it up and down just above the water surface, as someone previously suggested. The only other result from my search, was to jab at the bottom edges of the anemone with a plastic fork- to get it to release, but I just can't do that... that's just torcher and cruel. I don't have the heart to do that.
CAN ANYONE SUGGEST SOMETHING NEW PLEASE? I need to get it off of that ugly plastic ornament, and into my reef tank where it should be. I really dont want to put anything fake in my tank.
