I don't recall any of my BTAs having those pseudotentacles/nodules on the underside of the oral disc.

I don't recall any of my BTAs having that spotting pattern at the base of the tentacles.

None of my BTAs have that color pattern or anything similar on the column.

Be interesting to have more data on it, i.e., collection/import point, how long it has been in captivity, etc.

It came in on some live rock at the lfs,it was tonga rock.I bought the anemone $15.00.It is approximatly 5'' across. It will sting btas and is an aggressive eater.

It is very sticky,my onyx clowns won't go near it.It ate a clown fish at the lfs.
Sounds and looks a bit like a specimen two of us on RC had a few years back. Exception, the anemones we had had a rougher column then the pictures you posted show. Maybe post a close up of the column if it presents a clear opportunity.

Cheers and all the best with it, it looks pretty cool.

It ate a clownfish? That wouldn't be a BTA. However, it looks like a BTA to me. No surprise an onyx won't go to it, but devouring a clown is definitely not characteristic of
E. quadricolor. Also, stinging other BTAs doesn't fit with what I'd expect from E.quadricolor. Based on appearance alone; however, I don't see anything that is not characteristic of a BTA.

There are plenty of non clownfish hosting anemones that we (reefers) know nothing about. It ate a clownfish, so it cannot be a BTA. It must be one of the non hosting anemones either from the Pacific or Atlantic.

It's not a lta,it prefers to be up on the rock work, the column is or appears to be smooth.I will try to get a closer pic of the column tomorrow. When it came in the lfs it was the size of a quarter and the coloring hasn't changed. The green on the column looks flourcent and tentacles are really green. My cheap camera doesn't do it justice.

I honestly think this is a Bubble Tip.However I do recall a thread about these anemones with the extraordinary colorations on the foot.I dont quite remember what it was all about but a pic of the column close up would help!
