Hi guys i just started in the saltwater hobby have had tank running for about 3 months now. Ive done a lot of research before setting it up. All seems to be going great DT has no algea exept for some at the bottom of the glass Close to the sandbed which i leave for the copepods. Issue is the refugium i have chaeto growibg in there with a 38par led and a 75watt ufo grow ligth. Chaeto has grown like crazy with the grow ligth but even before the grow ligth ive been getting this brown algea like film with air bubbles in it no strings so im on the fence wether its dinos or cyano hope you guys can help. Thanks in advance.

Might be cyano, or diatoms. Both are pretty standard for new tanks. Just do some water changes and maybe increase flow in that area. It should start to go away soon enough.

I do 10-20% water changes every week and not sure how to increase flow inside the refugium? Im afraid to detach it and have it go into the DT.

Ah, sorry. I didn't read that it was in the refugium. Again, it is pretty standard for a new tank, and should go away by its own soon enough. You can try manually removing as much as you can, and black out the refugium for a few days. That has worked for me in the past when dealing with cyano/diatoms.

Could be detritus as well....try vacuuming it up? Turn off all equipment so there is no flow and siphon it out.
