Hi guys,
I'm having a headache, it's the second time my Crowns lay their eggs on my clam, and this time quite a bit of eggs too, I wanna save the eggs but I don't wanna lose my clam also, what should I do? Plzzzz!!!
Right now the Parents always swim around the eggs,if there are any fish swim by, they will push them away ~_~so sweet

Search "DIY Larval Snagger" This will let the eggs hatch in the tank and draw the larvae in so they can be collected and raised in a seperate tank.

Raising the larvae is a whole other can of worms.

I have a set of Maroon Clowns that have been laying for a year now and every 14 days my fish get a midnight snack because I couldn't possible raise all of the larvae.

This is what I built and have to use. Tried every method to no avail except scooping them out with a cup. The straw trick always damaged the eggs for me anyways.
read and prepare before starting to raise them. It might take a couple batches to get it going.

Thankyou so much for you guys help!~~~
The biggest problem for me now is to take the eggs off the clam ~_~
Still thinking what's the best way to take suck the eggs off ...

Don't take them off. Let them hatch and them capture them. The parents are your best asset in caring for the eggs. The eggs should hatch 6-8 days after being laid. They will hatch after lights out and the fry are attracted to light. A flashlight above the tank with all the pumps off and the little ones will come running.

Sucking the eggs off with a syphon or scrpaing them off will damage them to the point they will be severly deformed or not even viable.

You can scrape them off a smooth surface without damaging them. I really doubt you would get them off a clam with good results. Just capture them in the tank. You can just scoop them out with a container / flashlight. That's what I did for the first few hatches.

But I think when they hatch, other fishes are gonna eat them right the way, isn't it??
how can I catch them ><???
by the way, How can I make the parents lay the eggs on a stone or sth else beside the clam's shell ? :(

Wow, I have never heard of crown fish. Is this a new fish?
They are ocellaris.Typo for Clowns.
There are 3 ways to collect the larvae:
A-In the hatching night, bring the clam to the larval tank for 1 hr after dark.It won´t hurt it much.
B-Let them hatch and come 1 hr after dark with a spotlight and siphon the larvae out. Most fish won´t eat them in the dark.Stopping pumps and air will help.
C-In the last day, scrap and siphon the eggs with a siphon ended in a short piece of hose.Tumble the eggs in a bs hatcher in the dark, and pour them in the larval tank after they hatch.
