Ok, well let this be a reminder to have prefilters gaurding your overflow box....my 125 is predrilled and a snail decided to lodge himself into the elbow right under where the pvc passes from inside the tank to outside. The elbow is locked in tight,a dn i dont know how to get him out. the stupid snail has nearly blocked the entire flow and thus resulting in a botched plumbing system... The overflows cant keep up with the return... man i hate snails...im just going to get a freakin algae blenny. please if any has any ideas...otherwise im just goign to kill the snail and bash it into little tiny pieces.

Turn off the main pump and let the overflow box completely drain. Remove the internal baffle/pipe and the hose attached to the elbow. Using something flexible but ridge, straitened out coat hanger is my favorite, push the offending gastropod out of the fitting. If the snail is to tightly lodged for the above to work then removing the bulkhead and applying more force will be in required.

...and when you have the offending creature removed...try a little garlic and melted butter with a cracker....it makes the offending creature more palatable...

LOL sailor jon, thanks john, Unfortunetly he was WAAAY to far lodged.... before i found out it was a snail i was taking my algae scrubber and getting hte handle part and pushing it in through the top to try and free whatever was lodged...this only locked him in. The fittings are glued on i think, i used all my strength + tools and doesnt seem to budge. And an easier solution was to have that annoying snail meet mr drill bit :( i feel bad, but the first drill was gave him a quick death :( looks like i need more snails, Pmike has all of mine :P
