What are these little guys? Found them all over my filter sock. Look to be some sort of worm maybe. Looks like they may have tiny spikes. Orange with black innards. Maybe some form of bristle? I count 10 as of now.

That def looks like them but would like a second opinion. What do I do now? I've heard there beneficial but I wash these socks in our washing machine and don't really want them getting stuck in there when we do a regular load of laundry.

They just look like harmless bristle worms IMO. You should be able to remove them from the sock with a spoon or perhaps some tweezers.

They won't 'get stuck' in your washing machine.

I have 4 tanks and run 5 or 6 filter socks all the time. I save dirty socks until I have a full load for the washer (about 25 to 30). I do a wash with an OxyClean type cleaner, then a 2nd wash with bleach, then a 3rd wash with just water. I pull the socks after the spin cycle and then run some bleach in the rinse cycle just to get the washing machine cleaned out for clothes.

Bristle worms for sure. I found a ton stuck in my filter when I bought it used. Apparently the previous owner thought you never had to replace the pads lol
