Need simple help with Neptune Feeder

Just installed my feeder and but am a complete newbie to the whole system. As of now I just want it to feed twice a day and to be able to manually start it from the fusion interface.

1. It is connected to the Apex Base unit via an aquabus cable

2. The bar is set to automatic and under settings

Device 5_1
Name: Feeder_5_1
Icon:Bars
Control Type:Feeder
Log : Enable
First Feeding 10:00
Repeat Interval 360
Drum Rotations 1
Feedings per day 2
Feed timer A

Whether the bar is set to Automatic or "On" and I press the A schedule button, I get a 5 minute countdown on the screen and nothing happens.

I have searched all over for the solution with no idea what is going on. Maybe a bad unit? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked the module status page in the native Apex browser to verify if the firmware is "OK" and not "OLD" on the feeder? Does it feed at the preset times?

To check the AFS firmware, log into your apex on your home network using the IP address of your Apex and go to the configuration tab and select modules. Scroll down to the module list and make sure it says "OK" in the firmware field next to the AFS module/Feeder. If it says "OLD", that means the firmware on that module is outdated and needs to be updated. Select the AFS/Feeder from the pull down at the top of the module page and select Update Module then click submit change.

Actually got it to work. Neptune support was excellent

and relatively quick, although I don't think what they had suggested actually made any difference. But we had just started working on the problem. They had me take the AFS apart and manually rotate the gears. That didn't help, but I then was instructed to run some diagnostics and send them the results.

In the meantime I updated the AFS firmware (not sure it actually needed updating) and removed the device from the power module. then I removed the Feeder bar from the Fusion display and reinstalled the whole thing. Works like a charm.

I figured that's what Direct TV and my cable company always tell me to do when my TV or cable go out. Why not give a reboot a try ?
