Well I thought I was doing it right.Taking my time, getting the right equipment but the tank is not functioning the way I expected.
I want to do a 120 gal C2C tank after removing 2 existing corner over flows and conveing them with bulk heads.
Drill 3 1 inch holes in the back top for the C2C, and make the overflow with 2 pre cut pieces of glass.usinng i 1 inch pipe thruoghout the system. I'm not sure how much space i need to set the top of the over flow below the plastic rim. I want to get a Sicce 4 pump. I have a 5 and
believe it is too much for a 1 inch full siphon
My sump is an Eshops 40 gal 3 chamber and will have a reef octopus 150 and will use a Tunz overflow and a single BRW GFO/Carbon reactor.
a single valve will be placed on the siphon line and the i inch return line is going over the back.I will be using my now blackened cleaned live rock and new Caribb Floor crushed coral I got sick of the Fijji blowing all around
d, so no blennies or gobbies. i will be using 2 Jabao wp 10's cut down.
My light are 2 20 inch Maxspector Razor 420 16 W hanging 12 inches above the water. I would like to start out with softies and maybe work my way up.. I would like to st
Suggestions or questions are appreciated and welcomed,
Thanks.

You might take a look at CaribSea medium grain aragonite. It won't blow, and doesn't have clumping problems---I've heard of one, only, but suspect a chemical imbalance with it. In general, nothing in my tank clumps, and I'm using a Gyre at 75%.
I'd suggest TRYING a hardy lps like hammer, just to see how it fares. Once you've gone with softies, they'll take the tank if it's fit for lps---they really love good parameters and some will even try to take the glass sides. I thought i'd grow a nice confined meadow of gps in my lps tank and I began having to peel a foot wide patch off the glass every month.

1 type of substrate i chose, will it work
2 pump size is it too bigor not
3 would softies be ok for a newbie tank
4 What is the best location to place the c2c under the plastic rim
I guess I was asking for advice which is not necessaeily a question:frog:
