Thanks

I don't have any spare buckets but I just moved this past weekend and let me tell you: prepare. I lost 6 fish and countless corals in the move.

if you do it right you shouldnt lose anything.
frankie can you give us some specs on your system? are you moving everything to a new tank or keeping the same tank? how far are you moving and how long will it take? many people have had succesful moves and many members on here would be willing to help you out with anything.

If you want you can borrow my 20 long with a HOB filter. you can keep your fish and coral in there till you set up the tank. To be honest, I wouldn't trust a pet store... they have enough of their own fish to worry about. UNLESS, you know the owner pretty well.

I have a 3-4 you could have. I can bring it with Joe on Saturday, but it all depends on how many buckets you are looking for?

+1

I have a couple buckets you can borrow along with some bags and styrofoam boxes.

I've moved my tank from Rockford to Schaumburg and upgraded in the process... made it super easy as everything was pretty much set up.

I also moved my roommates tank from Rockford another day and we moved everything at once. That was a little hectic, however we successfully did it without killing stuff.

My advice is planning... consider if you are going to move all of your water or make water at the new place. The sand was a big issue... on both tanks it got stirred up and was not the best scenario. Consider buying some rubbermade tubs to set up so you have larger tubs than 5 gallons and you can not worry about getting your fish in right away.

Good luck!!

Couldn't have said it better. When I moved my 90 this is what I did. I bought a rubbermade tub and had that set up with my heater and two powerheads. Then I moved everything in 5 gallon buckets and put it all into the rubbermade. I then moved the tank and let that setttle for about a week before putting everything back in. I didn't lose a single fish or coral.

good luck.
