i recently switched my oddysea ballasts to some nice ice caps, and raised the light fixture up about 12" from the top of my tank i think the suddent light change stressed the nem and he split....one part of the nem is hiding in a corner, and the other part im kind of curious on how healthy it is...is this normal for a week or so the nem to be hiding after a split?

mine old one hid and then split...then came out again after the split...

the split was a self preservation instinct on the animals behalf...the sudden lighting change scared to poop out of it...it should come back out when ready...i would be on t elook out for the other half though...rotting nem = dead tank...

Mine split about 2 weeks ago into 3. One of the clones is out and expanded. The other 2 are still mostly behind the rocks. I would not worry this is normal. They need time to heal.

If it doesn't come out into the light within 2-3 weeks, I would try to move the rock ( or whatever it takes ) so that it gets light.

About a year ago I was selling some live rock and found several small ( and bleached ) clones that had stayed under the rocks and receiving no light.
