Nem stuck to bag!!!!

I would just cut the bag, and leave the attached part -- in short time it should release from the bag.
It seems like it is a new anemone, so trying to peel it from the bag could add undo stress at best and damage its foot at worse.

Stick your hand in there and GENTLY try to ease your fingernail between the foot and the bag. Once you have it seperated a little bit just keep working your finger between the bag and the foot GENTLY lifting up. Eventually it will either release from the bag completly or you will have worked your finger all the way around the foot. Again Do this very gently as you do not want to agitate the foot too much or tear the foot.

Edit: Man I type slow....carry on.

How long will it take to dig through and attch to the bottom? I tried diggin out for him before he went in...i have a fine sand bed and it just riolls back in! The reason i am so impatient is i have me powerheads off so no to blow him everywhere. Abyone have any ides with these guys ad how long they take to dig in?

Looks like you've only given it an hour, patience.
Could take an hour or two, could happen right away, could take longer, depends on nem, your tank, type of nem and your set up.
I personally would have drip acclimated for a couple hours before intro.

The nem was drip acclimated before his intro. He has settled a little, but still hasnt attached to the bottom as far as i can tell. I have 1 k PH (k4) running, but no direct flow on him. All tentacles are short and bubbled up. Wll Have a good pic soon

What color is the anemone? I get concerned when I hear short tentacles and H. Crispa -- they are suppose to have long tentacles; Dave has some good pictures of how long the tentacles should be on a fully healthy one.

The nem is more of a yellow color with blue tips. The tentacle count is too high to be Malu. The Nem is only about 3 in right now.

Is it ue to shipping, or poor handling, or what these nems seem to always be this color or very similar when they are small and at an LFS :) Seems I always see these Very light whith blue tips, then after time in the aquarium they turn alot darker.

Since lights out te nem has doubled in size! Its foot has attached and its tentacles are no longer blunt! Thye have streched really nice. The mouth is closed... as much as i can tell. My clowns are paying alot more attention to it, but havent committed yet. Hopefully soon i can post a pic of my snowflakes rolling aroun in it! :)

Yeah mine looked similar, as it regains health expect it's color to look more like this.
Feed small foods like mysis to help regain health.

That si BEAUTIFUL! I Love it! I love meeting people here that show off stuff like that! How long have you had it? What is the sizw difference from when you got it till now? With any luck mine will be something I can show to someone new in a couple years for encouragement! Thanx so much for the pix! I have become a crispa lover!
I had planned on mysis and enriched brine. How long should I expect before it starts eating bigger things? Krill and such?

Frog.pauley,
From what I can see of your tank, it seem to be too new for anemone. Good luck with it but I don't think you will have happy ending for this animal. Good luck.

My tank is over 6 months old...too new...maybe but it is stable. Nem still did not attach last night, but i did turn up the flow too soon. The difference in sand color is bought too different colors and didnt realize it till they went in. The lower layer of the sand bed is a darker shade than the top. Oh well, we will see what happens today. The PH are off, just the return runnin. I dug out a better spot for it this morning (almost to the glass).

The reason so many anemones are that color when you get them is that they're bleached (have lost zooxanthellae)--starving, basically. They darken up as (if) they regain health.

That is what mine looked like when i got mine. It has already grown an inch. Mine would not go in the sand either, so i placed it on a rock near the sand and it attached immediately and has not moved. You may want to try placing it on the rocks.

Moved up to a 1st lvl rock...imediate response. Foot started to swell as soon as it was there and seems to be attaching instantly! Thanx alot for the advice!
