Can I ask, was there room to put the rear of the tank against the adjoining wall to your fish room? Would it have necessitated moving the door? This could have provided access to all four sides of the tank.

hey bilk, i thought about it .. but it was too much work. moving door and would hinder the other side access. so decided against it.

Hey guys.. sorry been really really busy with work.. But the tank progress hasnt stopped.

Basic idea of the tank: Mixed reef.. far left side, under the overhang, there is low flow and low light. its going to be the chalice and acan area. Middle of the tank is suited for euphyllia.. i have bubble torches frogspawn and diff hammers there. as you go further left there is more intense light and more flow.. various sps.

here are some pics

skimmer is a piece of art. thick black skimmate. i can post pic if you are interested or can email you. money well spent.. also i got a apex breakout box and i am collecting skimmate in a 1 gallon container and have a float valve. It sends me email when the container is near full. and stops the skimmer when its full.

Cool, I'm looking to get the same skimmer for my 300dd. Maybe you should post a video on youtube since its very little info on it

yeah man. i will get around it.. i think i took up too many things at once and work has been crazy. lol.. on the side i am settign up discus tank too... reeksreef do u have a build page for your 300 dd ?

hey guys.. DISASTER .. the eurobrace cracked! on the front and tank is bowing out 1/4 to 1/2 inch!!!!! tank was built by DAS aquarium and now i am getting in touch with them. i have nylon strapped in the middle so the bowing has decreased a little bit. I dont want to take a chance.. hahaha.. this thread might be longer than expected!!

No way!!!! What material did they use for the eurobrace?

3/4 inches regular glass. Does anyone have any experience w DAS aquarium? This thing blows guys.

There's a couple of guys in nj that has dealt with them and they've had great experiences with them. When I was shopping for tank builders I was going to use them if I went with glass. Was the tank on their stand or did you build one? I'm sure that since Ethan put the tank in that it was level.

They will definitely take care of it. They've been building tanks for a long time. I'd be really surprised if they didn't.

I would get a couple of bar clamps on the top of that thing right away. When glass starts distending it can put a lot of stress on all the seals.
