New 120g Frag Tank

Fun story, I did a double take and referred to RC for your screen name because it looked familiar. Lol I then determined it wasn't you because it was different. Then you made a reference that sounded familiar and I put two and two together. Haha


A bunch of the stuff I got were way smaller than I anticipated too. Some of the plugs were tiny. Example:
I got 2 little leprechaun Rhodactis shrooms and they are literally smaller than my pinky nail, like the width of a pencil eraser. They looked like the size of a dime in the pic, but turns out the plugs were dime sized.. I only paid a dollar for each, but come-on...
A few things were actually as pictured, but it definitely wasn't consistent.

I've ordered some stuff elsewhere and they were actually bigger than I anticipated. Too bad they all aren't consistent..
 
Yeah, it is hard to tell size unless there is egg crate in the background. I bought a jawbreaker shroom and it was the size of a pencil eraser. On the site it looked huge.

It may be a bit before I host a full meet. At least until after the holidays. I would definitely be up for it, but the next month is hectic as I'm sure it is for everyone.

Plus, I'm leaving at the end of the month for a two week vacation. First time going to a warm climate over the holidays. Definitely looking forward to it!

Let's not go crazy, haha.... Most of my frags still need to grow up before I can frag them. The stuff I have plenty of, I doubt anyone wants: Red Cap, Red Vietnamese Mushrooms, some kind of neon green SPS/LPS encruster that is beautiful, but is probably a stinger of some kind. Also, have some out of control red rhodactis that need to get gone.

Very interesting read. Will have to check some pictures out.


The only issue I see is that even a lot of the reputable picture vendors also edit their images, but not too extremes. Adjusting various settings for a more realistic picture vs maxing out this and that for complete dupery and $$$ making. Lol
This can make it more difficult to decipher.

I just end up referring to r 2 r as the "thread that shall not be named" on here. Lmao
Slightly ridiculous...

Yeah, my issue is that all the vendors are onto this now and delete the meta data. Like those $900 rics that were incredibly altered that the vendor said they had just "sharpened up". heh. Right, if sharpen means twisted the knobs up to 11 on Photoshop. Of course, there was no meta data attached to the pic.

I was looking for more live sales to partake in and came upon the Coral Dudes thread for their first live sale. Never heard of them so I went looking at the pics in their thread and the last post was this!

"For this sale all pictures will be taken using this camera! no adjusting no photoshop! buy with confidence!"

I had to like it. Crappy camera + no editing = good. Lol

There's a decent amount of blue lights going on, but the pics with the time stamps in them (I assume are the underwater cameras) are realistic looking. The first few in the post are definitely way off though, but I don't think they are taken with the cheapo one.

I think this should be a requirement. Lol take the best picture you can with a crappy camera. (I'm using the term Crappy = non DSLR)

I have never bought anything from the Coral Dudes either, because normally they only sell on FB and I got off that years ago. Let me know how their stuff looks if you bought any. Glad they are taking "honest" pictures.

Facebook... That explains why. Lol

Probably won't buy anything unless the deals are really good on stuff I want. I want some nice euphylia's or nems for a bargain. Lol don't think they will fall in the under $30 category though..
And I still don't have any room. Haha
I gotta unload most of my rack by Xmas from the Legendary Corals live sale on black Friday..

No updates right now. I bought FF XV and have kind of slacked off on the tank build. I really want to get the Apex and PMK hooked up this weekend. I want to make sure that I am getting the PAR I need from my new fixtures and ReebBrites.
 
Also, if anyone local can let me know where they get their CO2 filled I need to get that knocked out as well. Best case would be a place that is open Saturday!

Looks like AirGas is closed on Saturdays :(
