I tested all the basics last night except ammonia (my kit is at a friend's)-

Everything looks to be in good order and I'll be adding some nerite snails and blue hermits tonight to start feeding on the green algea from having the lights on and the stuff that has been falling off the rock while it was/is curing...

I added 20 Nerites and 25 blue leg hermits last night and things are looking good, the Nerites are going to town on the glass!

Here's a few pics of some little creature I saw in the tank today that I couldn't figure out what it was....


ANY help on what this is?

It was about twice as long as seen in this picture (a tail??)
The tail broke off (pics below) and was still going about it's business in the tank!

It "walked" on the glass instead of sliding like most snails...

Here's a picture of it's "tail" that came off (very easily) while picking it up...

So... Any ideas???

This last one is just a picture from the bottom looking up...

I've been having a hard time finding anything from the Red Sea lately that is reasonably priced.

Have you tried Rob's?
We had just bought one about a week agoand he had 3 or 4 in stock.

I did see a purple tang at Rob's but $90 for his size was pretty expensive... about 6 months ago (just before I was ready to start putting fish in) I saw one out at the beaches for $69...

The Valida came from Orlando

Yeah, they are expensive. You don't see them very often for $69 locally.
