New 240 Gal Tank Pic

Heh- No problem man...How much sloppy silicone scraping did you have to do? Mine wasn't too bad and I'm still perfectly happy with it. Where did you end up getting the overflow cover built?

By the way, sorry about not getting you over to see mine before you commited to the buy. Things have been a little hectic around here so I haven't had a lot of time to get on here much...You're still welcome to come by some time if you'd like....

Very nice tank!! Are you satisfied with glasscages.com?
So far Very.. Have not put water in it yet. Glasscages asked me not to put water in it till after 3 weeks from Manufactures date which was 3/13, for the silicone has time to cure.
Which is fine with me. I have enough to do right now.

I have not scraped any off. In one of the pictures above there is a razor blade, that was theirs so they must have cleaned it up. I havenââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t seen a spot, I have to touch yet, but I have been busy trying to frame the basement out so I can start working on my tank.

I bought it from them. $20 or $30. It looks nice. Itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s all black

cool- I'm glad to hear they've finally started offering all black instead of the marbled granite looking stuff...

That tank really looks nice, they are who I am going to get to build my tank as well. I will probably do a bigger tank then the 240.

Yes, Most tanks are 3 weeks old when you get them. I ordered my tank last min. and knew that up front. If its going to leak, I don't think the extra 2 weeks will Matter, if it was made faulty should know that with in a few weeks of filling it up. I didnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t plan on filling it up for a couple of weeks any way, Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m building the tank in the wall and need everything in place first before filling the tank. I want to be able to let the tank sit full for a while before adding anything, and it needs to be in the right place. I should be done with that some time this weekend or through out the week. So I will be ready to fill it up when it is ready.

Behind the tank.

Behind the tank.

Here is the design I drew up for the fish room. the room is 5' x 15' and on the side with the door I have a storage area under the steps 4' x what ever where I have my RO unit and extra Water for top off and changes.

Think of any thing else Needed?

That is awesome Lonnie can't wait to see the actual picture of the room complete. You should start a log thread like MaxxII although this is a good start. How long did it take to come up with the pic I am waiting for Bart Simpson to come walking through the door. :D

Couple of night messing with it here and there. I actually did this in excel. I do this all the time. I have my basement all laid out how I want it. Just something to go off of. and when you get someone helping you everyone is on the same thought process some times its hard to explain what your wanting this way no questions.

Lonnie, your tank is 8 ft right? If you are planning on only using 2- 400 watt mh, what are you going to keep in there? You need 1 mh for every 2 feet.

Actually if you put the high light corals under the 400s there will be plenty of light through out the tank for lower light corals as well, plus 400 watt is a lot of light! If I remember correctly though don't you have three 400s?

Tom

He would be better off running 3 diamond lumenarc 3's with 250 bulbs instead of 2 400 watters.

Right now I only have the 2 - 400 Watts, I plan on upgrading after I get this setup I Plan on 2 more 250's on the out side, but I want to buy a better skimmer first. Plus I don't have enough corals right now to fill the tank, so like Tom said I will put the corals the need more light there for now. But yes I will upgrade after I get more corals, and get everything setup.

I have some more done. Bad pictures.. This camera Sucks!!

I Think I'm going to move the electrical boxes back for water don't splash on to them.
