New 44g corner setup and running

Mr. Vu
Just finished plumbing and aquascaping the tank these past 2 days. 44g corner-20g refugium-10g sump, 250w MH with 28 pcs for dusk/dawn effect, 65lbs LR, Euroreef CS6-1 skimmer, SCWD on Rio 2100 for return. Things turned out as planned...now the wait for it to cycle

Tank on first run before things settled

44G Corner, does not look as blue in person. I ordered a 10K and they sent me a 15-20K

The pendant is the best way to go for this tank. I just need to lower the lights down a bit.

Yep for smaller odd shaped tanks, pendants usually are the way to go. It also helps with keeping heat down with smaller tanks. If it starts to get too hot during the summer, just blow a fan across the water to help with the temps.

I had the high water on startup after adding all the LR. I removed a couple gallons of water and it is now only 7" in the sump. When the pump is turned off and extra water from the fuge dumps into the sump it looks like the above pic. The check valve keeps my returns from siphoning back and flooding my floor. On my old 55g I did not put a siphon break hole or check valve and flooded the floor lots of times. This tank was better thought out and planned.

3 years.

3 years.

Almost at the 3 year mark!

The tank has been reworked since then. The previous rock formations were blocking the light. I also switched from a Hamilton 14K, Coralvue 15K, and now the Phoenix 14K bulb.

Thanks Scott!

I just picked that guy up from Kevin a months ago. He ate all of my green zoos/mushrooms on the left side and has not touched anything else. He is just in there for now until his 100G home is ready.

The overflow clogged up one day and I ended up with water all over the floor. With a tank that small I was able to get away with just the HOB skimmer and monthly water changes.

The Euroreef skimmer was overkill also.

I find you tank very encouraging, I have the same one in a woodgrain finish that I am working on setting up no, Seems everyone tells me it's not a good tank for saltwater but I love it. I keep rearranging the rocks trying to find a rockscape I like. I've installed a sunpod 150w MH pendant which seems to light it up really well. Would welcome any tips.

I also have a 44 galloner corner tank. It has been running for a couple of months. I have to black clownfish in right now. I got a 24" Nova extreme with lunar lights for mine. I have going diagonal across the tank. This is my starter tank and if all goes well in a few years, I will change my 120 oscar tank into a saltwater tank.

Just noticed my small Vlamingi tang next to the Majestic Angel. The same fish is about a foot long now. I will need to post pics, but he never stays still to take a good picture.
