My euipment list so far:

540 inch acrylic 8ft 3ft by 3ft
ac3
bk300
2 waveboxes
2 6301
coralvue 4002 ca reactor
4 lumenbrights with 250s now (going to be replaced with 3 400s soons I think)
Dart pump for return

How high are the lights from the water surface? It might just be the angle on the pic but they look quite raised.

I want to go heavy sps I have 4 250s right now can I get away with 3 400s or should I go 4? Any suggestions would be apreciated

Only real advantage that I can see is you'll save a little money in the long run with the (4) 250W lamps. Assuming that your using the same type of bulbs of course.

Im not looking at the cost benefits as much as the tanks so deep and I want to put sps on the bottom

Not exactly sure how Im going to stain yet. Any ideas? I am going to try and finish the wood work this weekend

3ft deep, I would say min 4x 400w... If you want SPS all the way to the bottom you might have to look into 3x 1k watts...

Alright i have some updates for justins tank. It has a long way to go but it is looking Very good!!!
Here are a few pictures to start to move this thread along!!!

And as far as the lighting goes, i think he is going to ditch the 250's and go with 3 400's. The lumenbrights have such a wide spread, the 3 should cover it!
