Hello to who ever reads this!
Got a few questions regarding a system upgrade from a 4ft - 75 gal marine aquarium to a 6ft 140 gal.
Do you think this stocking list could work well?
Will be my first reef tank so made sure to choose easy corals that were listed on live aquaria.

Tank dimensions are: 72x18x24 inches
Fish;
. Yellow tang
. Regal angelfish (red sea)
. Golden semilarvatus angelfish
. Kole tang
. Jewel pufferfish
. Mckoskers flasher wrasse x3 (Male:Female:Female group)
. Occ clown x2
. Lemon damselfish
. Fiji yellow belly damsel
. Blue cheek goby
. Goldentail or banana moray eel (milliaris)
. Dwarf golden moray eel

Inverts;
. Skunk cleaner shrimp x4
. Blood red cleaner shrimp x2
. Sand sifting starfish x2
. Turbo snail x10
. Tube worm x3

Corals;
. Brain coral
. Candy cane coral
. Green toadstool coral
. Button polyp
. Thick finger leather coral
. Colony polyps
. Green fluorescent mushroom

Equipment:
Sump tank 50x18x17 inch
Deltec SC1350 skimmer
5ft T5 silver aqualumi aquarium lighting pendant
Heater etc.

Just wondering if you guys think this set up could work and if not, what would you suggest?
Also what should I feed the regal angel for a staple diet to keep it healthy?
Thank you! :)

hello,
it could work, if you introduce them in correct order ...

the Eels though .... not too sure.

angel will eat your meaty LPS.

I dont know anything about eels, hopefully someone will give their input about them

I would skip the damsel as they are normally very aggressive

Make sure you get the regal eating prior to introducing to the DT (a good QT). I feed my Regal spectrum pellets, flakes, nori, brine, mysis, frozen angel formula, and clams

Thanks for the swift replies guys! :)
Okay, good to know that most of my stocking list can work atm. :)
Actually have the 2 damsels already and they are model citizens, the fiji yellow belly was my first marine fish which I have had for 6 years, no issues at all so far :D
Yeah hopefully someone can help me out with the eels.

Thanks for the advice on the regal, in your opinion, would a 30 gal quarantine be okay for a smaller sized regal?

Cheers!

+1 on the damsel, the only damsel I'd put in my tank is a springeri damsel aka blue saphire, they are about the only one that is known to not be a little terror..

I had moray eel in my sps tans for 1.5 years, grew from 6" to over 2 foot, started eating fish, and was removed.

demsel ... they are evil ... lol

have u noticed how eels look like they just told an unfunny joke and are waiting for someone to laugh ?

Haha nice one lol
But my damsels are kind little fishes :( lol
Yeah, don't think the dwarf moray will be an issue, had him for a few months and wont get much bigger than the 10 inch he's at already.
Just looking to see if the milliaris will threaten any of my fish, even the bigger ones.

ohhh ! and its eating for u ? would love to see some pic !

I had a demsel kill a 12" queen angel once ! believe it or not ! it kept coming out of the rock, picking on the angel, and then run back to the rocks. did that till one day the queen went belly up at my friends tank !

your biggest worry .. is your coral choices and angel though.

I used a 30 Gallon QT for my regal, he was about 3" when I got him and did fine in the tank

If I don't get the fish I am looking for soon, you can have the regal. I am close to giving up my search

noooo ! dont give up ! my tank is fully cycled now after the move and I started moving fish and corals back in ... talked to some other sources for the fish ;) will keep you updated ...

I also upgraded from a 4' tank to a 6' tank many years ago. That stocking list seems fine but I don't think I would add those eels. Even dwarf eels get fairly large.
I have more fish than that and my tank is only 100 gallons

Oh right, how did the transfer over go for you? did you keep all livestock from the 4ft tank and move to the 6ft?

And yeah, the dwarf eel is definately a go atm, but guess I might find him a 3ft 40 gal for himself at some point.

Really want a larger moray for this tank, and from what I have read I heard the milliaris (both variations) are normally good with other tankmates.

Oh cool, what stocking list do you have for your 100 gal?

Cheers!

@Allmost, yeah my G dwarf moray is doing great, eating really well. Took him 2 weeks to start though. Also had a zebra moray a few months back that passed away. Was honestly such a great fish, soo much personality was crazy!

heres a video of the zebra moray feeding

Yes I transfered everything including the gravel. That was 35 years ago I don't remember what the stocking list was.

I love my dwarf golen moray. However I don't know how it would do with a larger eel. Hasn't touch my fire shrimp or any of my smaller gobies (Black Barred Convict Goby). Actually they live right by him/her.

Yeah, mine is great too :) have heard mixed stories with larger eels but seems the best bets are zebras and goldentail/banana morays.

Same here! does yours tend to swim around the tank in view or keep his heading poking out most of the time?

Hopefully my stocking list will work then :D
