Well after losing my prized Mystery Wrasse (Psuedochellinus mysterii) or (Pseudocheilinus ocellatus)...you pick... :) Anyway long story short, had a tank crash about 8 weekes ago....from my own stupidity and vowed I would get another....Well the fish gods have blessed me. I was able to get two Mystery wrasses from a LFS.... ( the plug Seth!! City Zoo in Elmira) the buyer really came thru for me. As the story goes these are a pair, the act like pair, the male which is larger keeps a good eye on his honey and anytime some of the other neighbors get to close he shows up in a hurry. I know this seems fruitless without some pictures and I am working on it. They are strikingly beautiful and both are eating like champs, They love Mysis and Rods Food, they hunt continuosly. I could not be more happy. The only snag is my adult Exquisit was not impressed, so I had to catch and relocate....however the color display he was showing while chasing the Mystery's was impresssive, he is going to be transported to the St.James home for wayward fish..... :)

glad to see they are working out. was the exquisite acting hostile or just making his presents known, my exquisite acted all macho when i put my hooded wrasse and lubbocks, but got over it both times after about a week of flashing his colors. and i will second that they're truely beautiful fish.

Ok Geo you can't leave us hanging like this, where’s the pics. You've had long enough to get some!!! lmao

This is the only shot I could get of them together after an hour, they are very camera shy. She is bottom left and he is looking at you :)

Thanks....No actully that is a different Monti, I'll try and get a picture of it tomorrow. The Monti that I have is bright green with violet polyps...looks like a mat of green grass with purple flowers.

the fish look great man. i understand what you went threw to get those pics, it took me an hour and a half to get the good pics i sent you, and that was in an aquapod.

Geo, is that the same monti several STRSers have or is it something new?? Ive seen it in various shades of yellow to green with purple/blue polyps. Just got a piece from Dave in fact. but none looked as good as that

This was a wysiwyg deal from about a year ago (Ebay), it came in brown and tiny, it was living in the shadow of my Green milli colony, when I had my tank mishap and lost my milli this little guy all of a sudden took color and is encrusting like crazy....In person it is incredible green with beautiful violet/purple polyps...it is very much an encrusting monti...if I can I will try to frag off a few pieces and see what I can get going....it is one of my Fav's of all time....I just did not know it was there :)
