New Anemone... Haddoni? ID help. Super excited!!

Really ?

Really ?

Can you take some pictures of its foot and under the edge of it.

Looks like a Haddoni, but want to see a few things first.

After looking at the first post you should know and not need to ask. You just wasted bandwidth for EVERYONE.

Wow. Ouch. I hope I sense the sarcasm in that or someone got off the wrong side of the bed this morning.

I just think that negative caveat tends to label them no different than pitbulls are negatively labeled. But at any rate, lucky me. I must be blessed with two very attentive and caring clowns. When shrimp and fish pieces are too big for them to eat, they actually take their pieces to the closest bta and stand guard while they're being digested.

I wonder if their gentler disposition will transfer to their babies? Is that possible? If that ever happens of course.

Pitbulls are domesticated and trainable, it's unfair to compare the two in my opinion. I don't think people should avoid saddlebacks if that's what they really want, but people should be aware that they can be rough with hosts and be prepared to deal with it accordingly.

LOL yeah
I even remixed Starboy in that honor

"Thread so empty need a center piece
Dozen posts a year cut from diddly
Cut Worm's post into skinny pieces
Then (s)he cleaned with the face
Man I love that tude"

Hilarious. Dont let negativity of others affect you. I appreciate the advice of those on this thread and I will look to the beneficial comments only.

Updated picture, thoughts on how its looking?

That's a really nice haddoni. I know dnak said in an earlier thread that it looks like a common petco one but I have to disagree. Petco ones are greyish green with grey stripes, yes. But they don't have that nice bright green in the middle. I personally have not seen one like yours. I think u got yourself a nice score! :)

How much / many are you feeding it?

I feed mine 1/4 of a medium shrimp once a week.

Yup looks very healthy. 2x a week feeding is good. Although they'll always appreciate food, not necessary to feed more than that

Glad to hear its looking healty. I did not treat it or anything, and seems like that is common practice nowadays. Ok I eill keep at 2x a week. Its about 5-6" in diameter.

Worm, I am feeding it probably 10 of those little mysis. When you say medium shrimp, what size in inches so I can look for? And do you buy raw or frozen?? Thanks!

I always buy non cooked non colored shrimp. Either gulf coast or what ever is on sale.

I get the low count shrimp (Which means larger shrimp, and lower number per pound) I normally get the #12. About 12 shrimp to the pound.

For these I but 1 pound, leave in shell (but take tail off if still attached) and spread out flat in a ziplock bag. I then freeze them laying flat. This way when they are all frozen I can shake the bag and they fall together, but not frozen together.

I take one shrimp out and cut it into 4's and place two of the pieces into the cup that I am going to thaw the cubes for the tank in.

As the feeding goes, the shrimp should be thawed out and I take the shell off and drop it onto the anemone. This way the other fish are eating and the shrimp falling toward the anemone should hit the tentacles and cause it to snag and retract it in.

For a larger anemone I have taken one of these shrimp and left if whole or only cut in half (shell less) and drop it onto it.

So, smaller ones turn out to be about 1/4" long and how ever round the shrimp is, and larger ones are about 1/2".

I will work on doing a video the next time I feed my Haddoni.

glad urs is still doing good. i feed mine salmon 2x a week. mine likes to eat hermit crabs that wonder too close.

LOL thanks man. I dont keep amy crabs in my tank. Good to know there is other things I can feed to switch up the diet. Didnt you recently get one??
