Just got a nice long tentical brown color anemone. Floated him for 20 min and slowly put some tank water in with him for about 20 min. put him in the tank and it seems he cant find his spot. Should I try to lift him on a higher rock?

I wouldn't even touch him, personally.

just make sure your powerheads are covered, and he will find his place.

leave your lights off and just let him chill for a little while in there. It's a new place he has got to calm down.
I think they like sand as well

What do you mean by covering the power heads? I thought that anemone's liked the flow so by having them on the anem would go to the spot in the tank with the highest flow? Im going to assume the anem will just climb right onto the powerhead and hang out there instead? How long do you typically leave it off for them to settle in?

My LTA likes the sand, kind of the same color as mine (brown/green) when its open it looks mostly brown, but when it shrinks down when the lights out looks green.

I have a curlycue anemone, and I had a condi. My curlycue found big hole in rock, and made himself comfortable there. My condi floated around for a few hours until I finally got tired of waiting for him to find a spot. I had a big empty clamshell that was just used as a decoration. I gently helped him into the clamshell, and he was comfortable there until he outgrew my tank. If you have a hole or deep crevice that you can help him into, try putting it into that spot. If he likes it, he'll stick around.

Also, the clamshell was awesome because I could simply pick it up and move him wherever I wanted him to be in the tank. He always stayed in the shell, and when I finally took him back to the LFS, I took him shell and all. He got HUGE and his tentacles were taking up a quarter of my 29g bowfront.

another trick to get them to stay where you want is to place him there, and then feed him.. usually anemones will stick around where there is food

of course it has to be in a place they feel safe and like the water flow and lighting, but it's worked for my with my carpet.

the best advice is to let them choose a place and then hope it's somewhere you can feed them and enjoy looking at them...
