Excellent!

Comments: This is really an in sump skimmer put in a box! It's big and powerful! It's already pulling gunk on a skimmed tank that my other skimmer was missing! Hands down the best skimmer I have ever owned! Good bye spray injection and hello needle and cones!!

It's been a few years since we last saw the MCE600 in action. However, with the more powerful pump on the AquaMaxx, higher volume of air intake, larger reaction chamber, bubble plate with conical diffusers and smoother transition to the collection cup, we would expect the AquaMaxx to perform noticeably (if not significantly) better.

I've stuck with the MCE since I have not seen any skimmer out there in HOB form that really beats the MCE in all round performance, space saving, sound ( not noisy ).

The only thing sux is the price on them. I've had 3 in the past. I've thought of trying out a new skimmer that can perform similar to the deltec in the same foot print.

what's the dimensions on this piece? as I'm entertaining the thought of something similar to foot print to my deltec

L 260mm W 180mm H 500mm (normal position).
H 570mm (allowing for removal of the cup).
400 litres of air/hr @ the venturi

** Update ** that looks thicker than the deltec. Dimension : L 8.75" x W 5.5 x H 20 Inch , I'll measure when I get home to see how much space I have in back of my tank as I might be interested in this.

Looks like you pulled those dimensions before I could check for you: my apology! Does it look like the skimmer is going to work out for you?

Too big for the back might have to put this on the side.

Does anyone else have any other reviews on this?

Hope that helps!

How much room is needed on the back of my tank to fit the skimmer comfortably? Also, I do not run a sump on my 120 gallon medium-heavy load non-RR reef tank . Would this skimmer be to lite for my tank? I see the manufacturer rates the skimmer at up to 175 gallons but looking for an honest opinion.

The AquaMaxx ConeS HOB skimmer requires at least a 6 inch clearance in the back of the aquarium. It is the largest hang on back skimmer that we carry. It would be fine for a light to medium stocked 120 gallon aquarium. For a medium to heavily stocked tank, we would recommend a skimmer that is rated at least double the size of your aquarium.

The Tunze Comline DOC Protein Skimmer 9011 (Item: TZ5213) is an in-tank skimmer that is rated up to 290 gallons. This skimmer goes inside the aquarium so perhaps this may work for you.

I am using the Tunze 9011 in my tank now. It is doing an okay job but just wanted one out of the tank taking up less room. Thanks for getting back to me.

any idea as to when the ConeS CO-1 in sump will be in stock again?

We are estimated to receive our AquaMaxx shipment mid-end of next month. However, they are having some challenges at the port of Long Beach which may cause some delays. I apologize for any delays and appreciate your patience.
