New BK Cone!

I have received pricing on them......

180 - $1100
200 - $1300
250 - $1550

It's not definite when, or even if, they will become available in North American market yet outside of special ordering. There are more details that still need to be worked out at this time.

Thanks,
Jeremy

From RB:
There are three models (180, 200, and 250) in the Bubble King Double cone lineup with each of these skimmers being powered by a direct Mini Red Dragon pump (which is similar to the mini red dragon pump 1500) utilizing a 100mm solid 3D pump head. The Double Cone Bubble King 180 is for aquariums up to 500 liters with adjustable 400-700 liters of air power and retails for 735€ ($990). Expect these new Bubble Kings to be offered in Europe within the next few weeks and shipments have already been planned for the US.

The neck diameters look smaller judging by the pictures. I guess we have to wait until more info is released.

Just another note about the new cone, this is actually not a "double cone", but just a single wine glass body cone skimmer. The only double cone that Royal Exclusiv makes is the Super Marin which came out in '07.

The new Bubble King cone has a wine glass shaped body, smaller neck, and a pump to match that smaller neck = less air draw and water flow.

How would that be an improvement over the previous model if there is less air draw and water flow?

Thank you, rkaires. What would the new design's effect be on a system with higher levels of organics?

I agree. Case in point, I have a ATB 1050A and a KZ M. The ATB has a 4.7" neck with 45scfh of air and the KZ has a 3.5" neck with 40 scfh of air. The KZ produces as much if not more skimmate than the ATB on the same system.

I think the new BK cones will preform better than the Alpha's.

More foam does equal more organics, however a bigger neck or smaller neck on a skimmer doesn't make a bit of difference. It's all relative to the amount of air draw the skimmer has in conjunction with the size of the neck it's pushing up into.

Without knowing the air draw on these new cones we can't say for sure if they will indeed create more foam than the Alpha's or not.
