New build thread

I think if you put the LEDs high enough, you could get away with only using two panels. That one you have now is crazy bright!

Sure would be nice for my wallet, lol. Have a feeling I won't be that lucky. Of course there's no water in it now, so that makes a huge difference.

We have sand and some of the wet stuff. Last batch of saltwater should get in some time tonight. Maybe get the dursos tuned tonight too..

Small video, trying to get a feel for how man LED's I really need. *This is 24 LED 50/50 Royal Blue and Cool White running at 950mah with no dimming. *This is centered directly over the center of the tank about 10 inches off the water, tank is about 18 inches from surface of the water to sandbed. *It's also in HD if you care to watch it that way.

I co-sign that! I think you'll be good with 2 for your light spread, but at 28" youd think par might be a little low. I've seen 2 generic 120watt fixtures on 120s and 150s that are 24"T and they've had par of 150 or more on the sand bed. So that's at a hight of >28". And you've got Cree LEDs which I would think would give more par. I think you might be ok with a par of about 120 on the sand bed.

From what I see, it looks like you need to double what you have now. Both ends are a little dark and you can see the shadow from the center brace. So one of what you have now on each end of the tank should work.

Here are the first residents for the new tank. The watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp are from the nano and the chromi is the only survivor from the tank crash.

Also have a tuxedo urchin, but he'll stay in the other tank until I have sufficient coralline growth.

Got one of my toys in today. I don't know if the fish like trying to swim in the flow or are fighting for dear life, I had no idea it was this big, but since it's positioned in front of the overflows, you don't even see it.
