new "canvas"

Approaching the four month mark now. Most of the nuisance algae is now gone (due to the use of RO water and skimming) or has been consumed by my herbivores (Foxface, Tangs, snails and a Sea Hare). I still have a few small patches of Bryopsis scattered here and there.
My recent efforts have been directed at tweaking my equipment.
I added a basement washbasin and a pump. If you look closely you can see that my 75 gallon aquarium sump has an emergency overflow leading to the washbasin. My skimmer cup drainage tube also leads to this washbasin as well as the reject water from the RO unit.

Here's a pic of my Sea Hare. These critters were not commonly offered for sale when I first got into the hobby. This one has proven to be a worthwhile addition for cleaning up nuisance algae and detritus. (Similar to a giant herbivorous snail.)

thanks for the compliments

thanks for the compliments

The quality of my pics are somewhat hampered by my 3.2 megapixel $200 (relatively inexpensive) camera. If I had a
real camera I could do some serious photography!

Mark- we gotta connect someday soon!

Here's a pic of the water returns taken from above the aquarium.

These returns are almost invisible when looking at the aquarium from a side view.

Thanks. The new kitchen is great except for one thing- food seems to leave it's shelves faster than at the old place. I guess that's normal when kids grow. :p

Good job hiding the plumbing. There's nothing worse than a beautiful reef, filled with PVC :)
That open spot is a lot bigger than I realized. Do your fish appear to particularly enjoy that swimming spot?

Good thing I cleaned up the spills and filled the napkin holder before I took the picture. I didn't realize you folks wanted pictures of the house!

Oh yeah: that end zone is the "food station". I only have a few fishes right now. You'll see some more in future pics.
